I think you are a bit presumptive. He has left a trail of drugs and lies wherever he has been a head coach. Things like that don't just stop happening because he is in Mt. Pleasant.

Dear flushtheherd,
That's the score that Central defeated Eastern this year in football. They are upset because I criticized their coach on their website for what I just stated here on the Stampede in response to Bronco'14. Hope that clarifies it.

While he's done a fine job with the Chippewas, he remains winless against the Broncos and has never touched The Cannon Trophy.
Considering CMU has not beat WMU at "Waldo North" Stadium in Mount Pleasant since Obama's 1st term (2010), I do not see much changing next fall.
The Cannon Trophy will remain in its rightful home.

Yes, and he had a similar turnaround too. He didn't, though, have MWC and SEC COTY awards or win 2 SEC East titles. Those don't guarantee success either but certainly are relevant to having a chance.

McElwain is obviously a good HC and hired two good coordinators.
Dramatically improved Chimps - but we still smoked them and they lost MACC game to a team we beat by 23.
They know we lost West championship, they didn't win it.
And he-they will still be coaching in-recruiting to Mt. Dismal.
