Not really. States can still elect democrats to tax and regulate their state to their hearts content. See California, New York, etc.. The rest of us depend on the electoral college to limit the madness.

What I can't figure out is how Biden still has control of this (for now at least) - this is turning into a mini-Trump/Clinton showdown... people are voting AGAINST Warren not FOR Biden. This is crazy schidt.....

He did win a majority of the Electoral College.
This is the ONLY thing that matters in a POTUS election. If the dems don't like it they need to follow the process and call for a convention for a constitutional amendment. Good luck to them with that. There has been an effort under way for several years now to institute term limits and a balanced budget amendment - very popular to many people - through that very same process that's gone nowhere yet.

They don't, and it's clearly reflected in the higher number of electors the larger states have. It's not like the presidential election is a contest for an outright majority of states (otherwise Ford would've beaten Carter and Nixon would've beaten JFK), it's a hybrid system that weighs population while ensures state sovereignty.
I do laugh whenever someone (not you Poly, but in general) says that Trump isn't the legit POTUS and Bush wasn't because they didn't win the popular vote. Make all the arguments against the EC and we can have that talk about the future, but we all go into presidential elections knowing what the rules are and how to win; if you don't get the EC majority then you have no room to complain (cough Hillary cough), it's like saying you won a football game because you had more yards, baseball because you had more hits, etc.
