Bold Prediction - UMTiger117 - 12-01-2019 06:58 PM

Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic (AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX, Saturday, Dec. 28)
Memphis Tigers (12-1) vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (10-2)

The Memphis Tigers will beat the Cincinnati Bearcats in back-to-back weeks to win the AAC and be the Group of 5 team to make the New Year’s Six. They will get to play a two-loss, non-champion Alabama team, who may not want to play in this bowl game after losing the Iron Bowl. Look for Mike Norvell’s team to play with passion in what’ll be his last game coaching in Memphis.

IF we beat Cincy and IF we get paired against Bama and IF we beat them then yes Norvell’s status will sky rocket but I am not sure what job will be open in January that will be that attractive.

Maybe Saban’s old job? ;-)

Right if Coach Norvell is coaching the bowl game then he will be our coach next year. Scott Frost was the exception.

I think Norvell will stay until Brady White exhausts his eligibility...at the least.
Next season, we lose very little in the way of offensive and defensive talent...and I think coming back would do very little to harm his reputation any.

I agree. Unlike Fuente, he has given no indication that he is leaving. Still, doesn't mean he won't, but I think he stays 1 more year.

RE: Bold Prediction - danny1 - 12-02-2019 07:05 AM

FSU is likely. Hope not, but likely. If so , let’s get Chip Long and keep on rolling.

RE: Bold Prediction - mccarverslawyer - 12-02-2019 07:17 AM

Florida State is dragging out their hiring process.

Ask yourself why

I agree this has to be our #1 candidate if Norvell leaves right?

Top 50 in yards with 430 and top 15 in points scored against a schedule that includes Louisville, Navy, Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, USC, and Virginia Tech.

Watching Saban do these AFLAC commercials makes me think he's getting ready to retire.

If or when Norvell leaves, Silverfield is probably the leading candidate

I’ll take him or Chip. Be happy with either. Let’s just hope we keep CMN!

Yes.

Perhaps I am wrong but I thought Brady White was immediately eligible as a grad transfer and that was a one time exception which would mean he would have to sit a year if he transferred which would effectively exhaust his eligibility.
