Dayton - jarr - 11-27-2019 06:31 PM

Honestly, with UCONN leaving, I would seriously like to see the Flyers added to the AAC. I think it might even be an upgrade. They have a legit big time following and would make for a nice conference rival for us. Adding them for hoops and then one of the military schools for football would be a nice tradeoff.

No

In the last 60 meetings between Cincy and Dayton, UC has won 44. I don't consider them a rival. They have rivalries with Duquesne and Lasalle and St. Bonaventure.

Maybe Dayton can upgrade their football team to D1 like UConn did.

Why? They are successful at their current level. No reason for them to change.

That may be the worst answers to a question I’ve ever read in my life. Wow.

It is a shame UD was not invited to the Big East. They check all the boxes. Crazy.

It would financially cripple their institution the same way it did UConn's (and ours, among others). No sense in them sacrificing the future financial solvency of their institution just to have their football team get beat up on in a 20,000 seat stadium. Their football would actually probably come in competing in the MAC, but they'd get killed in the AAC, and having a conference rival right next door would diminish our recruiting in the state significantly.

Better answer? 04-cheers

RE: Dayton - doss2 - 11-28-2019 10:26 AM

FB vs BB killed the BigEast.

Dayton Welcome Stadium seats 11,000

FWIW Dayton leads the series vs UC but that was a zillion years ago.

The profile of Dayton (small Catholic University) is not compatible with most of the AAC. They fit the Big East but got screwed and the A10 is the next logical place.

RE: Dayton - UCGrad1992 - 11-28-2019 10:42 AM

The AAC is not going to add Dayton for hoops and I absolutely agree with that. No reason we can't renew a home-and-home series though.
