Already flipped to UAB favored by 2.

I still show UAB at +1.5

I can’t find any place that has UAB favored. I didn’t have time to look when it was mentioned last night, but I see most places opened at +1.5, and are still there

RE: UAB likely favored to win CUSA West Title - uabfanman - 11-25-2019 02:12 PM

I'm pretty sure only one scenario with the UAB/USM/LATech games will put us in the championship. UAB and LA Tech need to win, and USM needs to lose. Fortunately, we'll get in if each of the favorites win. That said, 5 out of 6 (83%) of the scenarios leave us on the outside of the bubble. With that in mind, I'd be curious to see a model of the probability of each team's chances.

Also, while it won't directly impact us, Marshall hosts FIU at 11 AM, 3.5 hours before the USM @ FAU game. A Marshall win will require FAU to win to get in the championship game. FAU should know around kickoff what they need to do. This may change how they approach the game, if they have game time decision injuries. I haven't gone through all the scenarios to see if and how they can still host the championship with a loss (and Marshall loss). Hopefully they need a win to host, regardless of the other results.

Exact same scenario for me. I looked in multiple locations as well.

I say this because UAB will likely be statistically favored to beat UNT and FAU will be favored to beat USM.

Although we will be holding our breath on that final day of the regular season CUSA action, we are the ones likely to actually be favored to win the West.

I meant to ask you what do you mean by being "statiscally favored" to beat UNT?

It's on a local channel folks are familiar with and can find with a digital antenna!

If we beat UNT & USM loses to FAU then we are in the Champ Game. Doesn't matter what LaTech does. In fact, we'll be outright West Champs in that scenario since we own h2h vs LaTech. We really screwed Tech Saturday...which is just fine by me.

C-USA has changed tie breaker scenarios the last week of the season.
If Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss and UAB each win their final regular season game and finish 6-2, the tie would not be broken through the first seven tie-breakers and it would go down to average computer ranking (Anderson and Hester, Billingsley, Colley Matrix, Massey, Sagarin and Wolfe), with the highest ranked team earning a spot in the Championship.

Timing will be questioned but I think this is a more fair/reasonable tiebreaker than who hasn’t been in the championship for the longest amount of time.

Anyone know the composite averages of the teams at this time?

I saw a graph from someone on twitter, who posted the average rating from each of those.

Was USM, LT then UAB
50s, 60s, 70s.

SOSs pretty much is to blame for that order.

I think it’s a wash this year, but I do like changing that rule for the future. We would lose both scenarios. USM wins both scenarios. A USM win this weekend over FAU would move them up more than a La Tech win over UTSA.
