Siena dominating American, who is without their POY guard tonight. He was suspended for one game due to a summer league game he played in. Expect they'll be much better with him Friday night.

6-0 start for the CAA, though two wins over non D1 opponents. Elon should beat Mars Hill, though the game is close, and Drexelis neck and neck with Temple.

RE: CAA and Other MBB Games of Interest - Tribeheart - 11-05-2019 09:22 PM

Elon looks like a given as the CAA cellar dweller this year. No size and no talent.

Looks like Nate Sestina is starting for Kentucky.

Not to bring up a sore subject, but I saw that both LJ Owens and Cameron Brown both started for their respective teams and scored double digits in wins

How is that NOT bringing up a sore subject, J?

Good for LJ, but UMBC was playing something called Valley Forge, a D3 independent that went 1-20 last year

This is not a sore subject with me. I don’t want any player back who left. They voluntarily chose to cut ties with the W&M community (ie. me). They moved on; I’m moving on. It’s done.

What is a sore subject with me is the treatment of Tony by the school. The cutting of that tie was not voluntary, nor was it deserved.

I want Tony back. I want Tony involved at W&M. I want Tony in the W&M Hall of Fame. Somebody needs to man up, or woman up, be magnanimous, and remove/bury the hatchet, and restore the man to the W&M community which still holds him, and his family, in the highest regard.

Hofstra loses as a 17 point favorite to San Jose State, 79-71. San Jose State was 4-27 last year. CAA is wide open.

I didn’t see the game, but it looks like Pierce came off the bench to chip in 5 points and 7 rebounds in 20 minutes as the Tarheels won their season opener vs Notre Dame. Roy only went about 7 deep.

Walsingham's Richard Washington with 23 pts, 7 rebs, 3 assts off the bench to lead San Jose St. Hofstra will not top the CAA this year. No size, no depth, no defense. Wish Washington had found his way back to Williamsburg.

Glad to see he's getting meaningful minutes and will contribute. Reminds me of Luke Hancock heading to Louisville after George Mason.

Delaware with a solid 56-53 win over Oakland.

RE: CAA and Other MBB Games of Interest - Tribeheart - 11-08-2019 09:59 PM

Solid showing by the CAA again tonight with wins all around, except UNCW's expected loss to UNC.

Northeastern with a nice cross-town rival upset of highly rated and overrated Harvard. Three years in a row for Northeastern. Jordan Roland, after scoring 39 in their opener, set the Northeastern single game record tonight with 44 points, surpassing Reggie Lewis and JJ Berea. CAA POY will be a real battle this year.

VCU over N. Texas by only 59-56.

Richmond squeaks by St. Francis (PA) 100-98.

St. Francis was up by 12 with under 3 mins, and blew it in OT.

We better be working NOW on defending that guy.

Maybe we should play in the A-10 this year?

Merrimack, in just its second D1 game ever, beat Northwestern in Chicago, 71-61. Merrimack lost by 20 to Maine in their opener. Collins was already on the hotseat for their poor performance the last two seasons. This will kick that into overdrive. Grass ain"t always greener, Chase! Add that to your midseason highlight video from last year.

Yep Chase had one foot out the door before the season ended last year. While I have only best wishes for Pierce and Milon to be successful as W&M grads, cannot say the same for Chase - Plus Chase sits out a season as his penalty for leaving.
