According to CBS we beat a ranked opponent and then DROP OUT of the top 25.

some people just can't handle Memphis' success. If our guys has Michigan or some SEC school, they would have been talking about this game all week, especially, Brady & Gibson.

It makes sense.
#20 App State's only loss is to a 5-3 Georgia Southern team they rank at #87 and they haven't beaten any ranked opponents. Temple OTOH is only ranked #43.
#25 Washington is really coming on strong at 5-4, they're record speaks for itself, being one game above .500 and all.
We were way up there at #24 last week, but we beat #16 SMU... therefore, SMU should move up one to #15 for playing a tough Memphis team close on the road and Memphis should move down 2 spots for beating them, even after the refs tried to keep that from happening.
Maybe Gary Parrish puts this thing together, with the help of his @$$.

I'd say that's close to right having us ranked right around where Notre Dame is. I'd actually like to see us play them in a bowl game and despite my user name, I can tell you 100% I'd be pulling for Memphis. After seeing how poorly they did in stopping the run at Michigan, combined with their ineffectual offense, we'd have a legit shot at knocking off a team with much more resources and higher ranked recruits.
Now, on the other hand, Tulane being right below USC, suck it Trojans!

Funniest part is that little old Southern Miss is the highest ranked team in Mississippi.
Best part is we're the highest ranked of the have-nots
2nd best part is 4 AAC in top 25

It was fake news.
Actually it was a late game so a late update. Thee were lots of indicators. The confusing thing was it had updated records but not updated rankings. That must be an auto update to the records.

We truly do need the bye week to get healthy, re-focused..but on the downside, I suppose we can move down after this next weekend of games from other teams below us winning while we are idle?
