Gameday needs to send a crew over to Tiger Bookstore and get pics of the Tiger mural on the wall over there. I was in there one day, and they were snapping photos of Lawler standing under the mural. I said to him "you look natural under that mural". He said "I should. I painted this when I was a student at MSU."
A video of the mural at Tiger Bookstore and Jerry talking about painting it would instantly establish his credentials as the picker.

Great Choice. Penny and the B-ball team will have a segment, but Lawler will represent Memphis Football for the national wide audience better.

Didn't mean to say Lawler was better, but that Penny would be associated more with Memphis Basketball nationally. If we want the focus on Football, Lawler would be better at doing that.

Hoping some of the great past Tiger alums (football-side) come in and have some part of it ... Isaac Bruce, DeAngelo Williams ... Gostkowski ... and the slew of newly minted ones, if they can get away from their NFL schedule (but doubt it).

I must admit. As far as speaking off the cuff and talking up Memphis you can't do much better. That is what the guy has been doing his whole life.

Right! And, at least he won't be like most of the former athletes they have on the show that say, "My pick is XYZ", in a boring/monotone manner.
