KenPom preseason predictions are out. Has us 10th in the MAC: https://kenpom.com
Take it with a grain of salt, as statistical rankings usually aren't fully accurate until about half way through a season. But I don't think 10th unrealistic, unfortunately. Hopefully these new transfers come in and prove me wrong. Would love to see Binelli or Monterro become our first true pure-shooting threat since... I don't know when?
Also interested to see how Toure does his senior season. I don't think there are a ton of other quality big men in the MAC this year. Perhaps not having to share time at the 5 with JT4 plus playing against fewer quality bigs will lead to some more offensive production from him.

Rob should do just fine. He lacks X and O excellence but he projects an aura of class, communicates well and excels in the area most desired in an assistant, recruiting. I doubt he will be the head assistant at Syracuse with Boheim so close to retirement age, that would project him to be the successor and I don't think 'Cuse fans would accept that.
When compared to Ron English, I personally would surmise Murphy's skill sets to be far superior if projected to be served on TV or in the business world. English, bye the way is scraping by on just $350K a year in salary and all the additional benefits that a U-F job provides. Yeah Rob will be just fine.

Jalen is a junior, a third year player like Groce (a transfer), but you are correct we are dominated by imports.
I'm actually kind of pumped up about this to a certain degree. Ty Groce is the prototype of past EMU stalwarts like Fred Cofield, Grant Long and Brian Tolbert, local guys who killed it at EMU.
Ty Groce, quite frankly, has been the only frontcourt player on the EMU roster with the athletic skills that could attract NBA interest since Tim Bond left. Unfortunately for his first two years at EMU, he has been playing "not to make a mistake" as he would immediately be pulled after missing a shot or a defensive assignment, unlike JT4 or Minnie. This is his year to make a statement as he is obviously is our best returning player thus unlikely to be subjected to the same previous treatment. I'm kinda excited for that.

I understand why folks consider Groce a transfer, but in reality, he only attended a Summer semester at Northeastern. So, I get it... but he’ll be able to play four years here.

Keith, you once again are correct and I think that Ty playing four years at EMU could truly be a great thing!

I can say in 30 years following E Michigan sports, this basketball team, is a team that interests me a lot...….No one knows what to expect! On film some of the newcomers look really promising.

I agree wonder what unselfish team oriented play will look like because I haven't seen it too often the past 4 years
