Miami's OL is a sieve

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 7 - Garrettabc - 10-11-2019 08:42 PM

The OL’s in the ACC are the worst ever. There might be 3-4 teams with an OL worst than FSUs.

There's legitimately 1/3 of the league that has an OL that can't reliably do much of anything.

Miami just shook up the Coastal. 17-9

Coastal Chaos reigns supreme. Good job UVA...

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 7 - CollegeCard - 10-12-2019 12:28 PM

What a poor performance by UVA. Six trips inside the Miami 25 and only 9 points to show for it. Perkins has regressed thus far from last season and frankly looked like a freshman running the 2 minute offense to end the game, not a Sr.

The Coastal looks to be up for grabs.

The irony of Duke using plays from Paul Johnson's "flexbone" playbook to score 2 TDs against GT is not lost on me...

If you look at things from ten years ago, you would swear GT and Duke have switched places. Duke being the team that competes even though it shouldn't and GT is the laughing-stock.

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 7 - ecuacc4ever - 10-12-2019 01:59 PM

It's freaking hilarious that Duke is actually out here in Wallace Wade running Flexbone plays.

The real irony is Cutcliffe was second only to Beamer in crying over it being a player safety issue.

GT falls to 0-6 ATS on the year. Spread was 17.5 for Duke, and Duke wins by 18. Has there ever been an 0-12 ATS year for a team? I'm curious.

South Carolina beats Georgia in 2OT. The same South Carolina that lost to UNC. Good thing that it just means more over there. 03-nutkick

FSU completely rolling over for Clemson

Taggart is such a joke

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 7 - georgia_tech_swagger - 10-12-2019 03:54 PM

There may have been a total of 10,000 fans for Duke-GT in Durham. That's even more shameful than the teams being fielded for that game.

Serious question Hokie fans: How much to fire Fuente by year going forward? Don't tell me you don't already know the answer...

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 7 - CardinalJim - 10-12-2019 05:47 PM

Had to turn off the Clemson/ FSU game. The thought of what Clemson is going to do to Louisville next week making me sick to my stomach.

Watching Cincinnati beat up on Houston wondering how Desmond Ridder got out of Louisville without even getting an offer. 03-weeping

Approximately $2.5 million per year that remains on his contract, IIRC.

Quote:Here are the buyout numbers in Fuente’s contract, with the number first being if Virginia Tech were to fire Fuente without cause. The second number is the buyout on Fuente’s contract if he were to leave Virginia Tech on his own accord.

2018: $15 million, $5 million

2019: $15 million, $3 million

2020: $12.5 million, $1 million

2021: $10 million, $750,000

2022: $7.5 million, $500,000

2023: $5 million, $500,000

2024: $2 million, zero

VT renewed Fuente's contract in 2018? Wow. You guys didn't hire Dave Braine back up there did you?

RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 7 - georgia_tech_swagger - 10-12-2019 10:56 PM

I don't think it's possible for VT to fire Fuente until 2022 unless ticket sales crater completely or somebody writes a very very big check.
