We were OK against Navy's triple-option once we cleaned things up in the second half.

The problem we seem to have is when a team spreads us out and can run read option with a credible rushing threat at QB. ULMs quarterback also tearing us up on scramble plays too. And we had a lot of guys that would get to the play and just miss the tackle no matter what ULM was doing.

Just an all around discombobulated, back on their heels effort from the D.

First time someone has said how bad our tackling was and I agree.

You really think they are good? They are an average team at best. We made them look good. You cant lose 72 - 20 to an okay Iowa State team and be a good football team. We made them look better than they are. I personally saw 2 average teams Saturday playing terrible defense. Hopefully I am wrong but I am nervous about the second half of the season.

Just curious, is Tulsa a good team?

Heck, is Temple a good team?

I mean I guess its all down to how you define good. I do believe both of those teams are better than ULM. I think Memphis is a "good" team that played poorly (on D mainly)this past Saturday. I don't know one way or another. It's just my opinion. It seems like all of sudden some are trying to elevate ULM because they gave the tigers a run for their money. Is this because the ULM is a competent "good" football team or because we played poorly. Who knows.

Good is subjective -- I get that.

Temple beat 21 Maryland 20-17 to go to 2-0. Surely a great win.

The very next week they lost at Buffalo 38-22 to drop to 2-1.

So.... is Temple good (by beating Maryland) or was it a fluke because they got it handed to them by Buffalo 38-22 who is now 2-4 with a loss to Liberty?

RE: THAT WAS A BIG W..... - TigersSpin - 10-07-2019 02:44 PM

So this all means ULM is a good football team? Or are you trying to say I don't know who is good or not. Or are you trying to say that just because a team has a bad game doesn't mean their bad. Because if you are saying that then I agree. I believe Memphis is a good team who had a bad game against an average at best football team.

Temple did what good teams do. Have a big win then lose one they shouldn't. Great teams don't do that.

Sure they could.

Ole Miss has recently made trips to the following since 2000: Memphis, Fresno, Wake Forest, Wyoming, Arkansas State.

Agreed. Thinking OM can afford & attract a number of lower level G4 schools for home buy games. No need to contract H&H.

I think there is a chance Ole Miss would come to Monroe. We are in talks for a home and home with Mississippi St. Sure would like to get you guys back to Monroe! Easy drive! Just sayin... :)
