I think we're going to learn a lot about Ohio St tonight. Finally getting to play a real defense for the first time.

Auburn's D played well enough to win but the offense either gave away, or left too many points on the field and in crunch time Florida got it done.

It was nice while it lasted, and Auburn is still capable of beating anyone, and we are much better positioned than I feared we would be when the season began.
1 loss with that schedule Auburn has had so far is impressive. By no means a bad loss in this one.

This loss means nothing. Auburn runs the rest of the table and they are in.

Yes, as that would mean beating LSU, Alabama, and either Georgia or Florida in the CCG, and given that there can't be more than three unbeaten P5 champs, then yes, if AU wins out they will make the playoffs.

Easier said than done, though, in effect it means that every game they play from here on out is a playoff game.

How pathetic that this can set up for Bama to get rewarded again for not winning the SEC West. Auburn runs the table again and loses in Atlanta while Bama sits dormant with one loss and get in. Honestly, a new rule should be made that you cannot get in the playoffs without winning your conference, or at minimum, your division.

34 Pitt L
56 UGone
24 Cincinnati L

Moving forward, we control our destiny for playing in the conference chip game. That's all you can ask for. Ohio St is really good. CFP good. That's behind us. I just want to play for the conference chip and go from there.

There's no doubt about it, you guys look as good as anyone in the AAC. I was impressed especially with your OL, it controlled the line of scrimmage vs the UCF defensive front all game.

Temple and Memphis look pretty tough too, and Houston has the horses to be a threat against anyone on a given Saturday. But a path to the AAC title and possibly the G5 spot in the NY6 is there for the taking.

Houston sucks this year

Not as bad as Florida St. but yah we're not winning **** this year.

FSU is 3-2
Houston's record??

Wed be 4-1 on your schedule.

Remember, Alabama's situation in 2017 was actually a perilous one. Once they lost to Auburn, they needed help to get in. Had Wisconsin beaten Ohio State in the B1G title game, Alabama would not have made the playoffs. That would be the situation again for them and any other 1-loss team that isn't in a CCG.

So far, I am impressed with Tulsa. They have some big boys on both lines, and they are winning the line of scrimmage.

I’m not on twitter so I can’t tell nick_pants, but something very similar happened in the Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and Georgia, way back on 1/1/81. In that case, Georgia recovered its own kick-off at the Irish 1-yard line. ND had two players at the goal line and each one thought the other was going to catch it. After the game they said crowd-noise made communication impossible. Watching that game from inside the Superdome, I can easily believe it.

1:02 left in the game.

RE: Laughable Scores - 2019 Football - Week 6 - stever20 - 10-05-2019 10:32 PM

what a catch by SMU to win the game. 43-37 SMU. Up to 6-0 and along with Ohio St the 2nd bowl eligible team of the season.

and first time since 1982's Pony Express they've been 6-0.

From the start of the 4th Q in, SMU got a year's worth of good fortune to win that game. Should have lost it about 5 times.

Well justice prevailed in overtime. When Tulsa scored their touchdown in the first overtime the play clock expired 2 seconds before their snap but the official missed it and it wasn't reviewable.

It could have cost Florida today but the second time Brown stripped the QB of the ball the Gators were actually snapping the ball after the play clock expired. The clock is reviewable in basketball, and football officials review the clock when they re-spot a ball, so I don't know why it can't be a reviewable call.

RE: Laughable Scores - 2019 Football - Week 6 - stever20 - 10-05-2019 10:55 PM

I didn't understand Tulsa in that 2nd overtime, after they got the fumble. They went for home run balls rather than trying to get closer at least for the kick. No plays to try to get 10-15 yards. One of the stranger OT drives I've seen in that situation.

With a QB who called it quits after 4 games?

Beat OU and Wazzou and you guys can talk smack. So far the $4 million dollar HC has beat PV and North Texas. Khator and Tilman won't accept anything less than 8 wins

kind of telling that this thread only has 59 posts at 1am on Sunday morning. So few upsets today.... Been a really quiet season for upsets. Of course that's going to end at some point right?
