We are 17th in scoring D which is the most important of the D stats. It’s early. South Alabama never got into the red zone. RE: Tigers vs no body - BigTigerMike - 09-17-2019 07:08 AM I counted it and in 3 games the opposing team got in the redzone 5 times and scored 5 times Ole Miss: FG TD Southern: TD TD FG South Alabama: 0 But it’s a bit deceiving stat line right now if you consider that the defense in 12 quarters ‘only allowed’ a team to get into the redzone five times. They have been stopping them in the middle of the field all day long RE: Tigers vs no body - mairving - 09-17-2019 08:10 AM (09-17-2019 07:08 AM)BigTigerMike Wrote: I counted it and in 3 games the opposing team got in the redzone 5 times and scored 5 times Teams nationally are averaging around 9 red zone attempts, 7 of which are scores, 5 TD's and 2 FG's. Almost 20% of those teams listed have only played 2 games which skews that stat some. Heck, Florida State has had opponents in the Red Zone 19 times and they have scored 17 of those times. On offense, we have converted 12 of 15 Red Zone attempts with 9 TD's and 3 FG's. RE: Tigers vs no body - aardWolf - 09-17-2019 08:20 AM We can't look past this week's opponent just because they're a bunch of nobodies. The stat we have on our side is that in the history of our program, we remain undefeated during bye weeks. Which I think shouldn't be used against us. We simply haven't had many defensive series with an opponent having a red zone attempt. |
