Look past USA at your own risk. South Alabama has an explosive running game with Tra Minter averaging over 113 ypg and 8 ypc. Minter is 3rd nationally in all-purpose yards. Including 18 yards per return on kickoffs.
USA is averaging over 426 yards of total offense per game. Their running game (248 ypg) is averaging double what the Tigers rushing defense (124 ypg) is allowing on average. Fortunately, they are also averaging 4 turnovers per game. Something you realistically cannot expect to continue.
Tigers offense has to take advantage of a weak secondary and score often. Cannot allow USA to run the ball consistently and eat up clock.
Tigers must find a way to continue to force USA to commit turnovers in this game.
Special teams have to be a strong point this week for the Tigers.
The Tigers D started out very slowly in the Southern U game allowing SU to go up and down the field on a couple drives in the first half before finding themselves and turning in a dominate 2nd half(15 total yards allowed). They are going to have to come out ready to play from the start this week with the Tigers playing their first game on the road.
