Other action today - ejd_5277 - 09-07-2019 12:59 PM

As of 1:50 PM Eastern:

Army 14, Michigan 7 Half
Maryland 42, Cuse 13 Half (so much for that improved D, Dino...)
UAB 17, Akron 6 Half (Expected)
Kennesaw 16, Kent 10 Half
Pittsburgh 20, Ohio 10 10:00 remaining 4Q
K State 38, BG 0 Half
NIU 7, Utah 7 13:00 remaining 2Q

As a whole, how bad is the MAC East?? Good lord... Of course there's still time remaining but I thought that was a winnable game for Ohio in Pittsburgh this morning. In fairness though, they've done a nice job digging out of an early 17-0 hole.

Akron being a 9.5 point dog at home to UAB shows just how far they've fallen.

Kent State... well... I know Kennesaw is an FCS power, but I'm sorry... if the MAC is going to get any kind of long-term respect, it absolutely MUST stop stubbing its collective toe against FCS schools like it seems to do a few times a year.

BUGS... already down by more than the game spread (36.5) at half.

Syracuse defense getting gashed in every way imaginable in College Park. Maryland rolled up over 400 total yards in the first half in a game that closed Maryland -1.

NIU and Utah tied at 14 late in first half

RE: Other action today - ColinApocalypse - 09-07-2019 01:13 PM

Ohio has not looked like a championship team. The race is wide open.

RE: Other action today - WMU2013 - 09-07-2019 01:17 PM

Monmouth winning 13-0 against Lafayette.

Kennesaw State is FCS but a good one.

Good win for Golden Flashes-Lewis in his second year.

Can we now pump the brakes on saying CMU is better than last year. Sure, they beat Albany (FCS), but last year Albany was 3-8 and CMU was 1-11. Right now they are getting throttled by Wisconsin. Last I checked CMU had 38 passing yards total in the game in the 3rd quarter and had -11 rushing yards. That's 27 total yards on offense. Oh, and by the way at the time I checked the stats Wisconsin was squeaking by with a 47-0 woodshed beating.

Nebraska and Colorado has turned into a crazy game in the 4th quarter. Colorado had a 96 yard flee flicker touch down, next series Nebraska had a 76 yard play for a TD, next series Colorado hit another huge pass and ends up scoring quickly. I think there were 3 TDs in under a minute of game play.

I will argue that we’re better than last year, but that still doesn’t mean we’re very good. I just want to see us be competitive in the MAC. 4-4 in the conference is my hope. Anything above that will make me happy.

Definitely think CMU could get to 4-4 in conference.

I mean we do play Akron, BGSU and Ball State. Those should be 3 winnable games.

Not MAC or FBS related, but...

K College won their season opener vs. Oberlin, 3-0. The game featured 8 turnovers. I sort of love DIII football...lol

Could happen, yeah. The MAC is a very unpredictable conference. You guys have a good coach, this year is going to be an evolution. Could pull out 4W.

Not only did the badgers pound your d!cks in the dirt, but your QB & RB look to be out considerable time after that one. Tough trip to Camp Randle.

As bad as the MSU game was, that CMU game was ten times worse. I mean.. we should obviously expect to be better than CMU this year, but 599-58 yardage, 37-3 in first downs.. those are FCS bottom feeder numbers.
