Memphis v Southern U by the numbers - ncrdbl1 - 09-03-2019 09:23 PM

The key factor will be how focused the Tigers are at the start of the game. Unless the Tigers come out and sleepwalk through the first half then the game should be out of hand early.

Tiger's offense has a lot of healing to do after a subpar performance in the win over OM.

The one thing the Tigers CANNOT allow is to let Southern stay in the game going into the 4th quarter.

They must come out focused and ready to play. Then they need to play full tilt and not go through the motions. Going through the motions is how you end up with injuries.

What is going to happen is that these numbers will get significantly lower, the last one probably by quite a lot.

Yeah, unless it is raining, and I dont think it is supposed to rain, Brady will put up good numbers and Taylor will run amok.

Homer Simpson would have had a better analysis.

Didn’t expect a line for this game but to my surprise one was posted in the Philadelphia sports book today.

Southern
Memphis (-37.5)

Southern is a bottom-tier FCS program.

Comparing them in any way to Georgia State is asinine.

Georgia State was 2-10 last year.
Southern was 7-4 last year.

Both teams appear to be bad. Southern just lost to McNeese State 34-28 after losing 5 fumbles. GS beat UTK which is awesome and could also be a fluke.

Memphis is favored by 37.5. As Coach Norvell says, I don't care if Memphis wins by 1 point or a 100, as long as Memphis wins.

I bet he wouldn't be happy with a 1 point win though.

Utk would beat Southern 50-0 if you need to understand the difference between the two. For that matter, Austin Peay would probably beat Southern by 3 touchdowns.

Latech beat Southern 54-17 last year .
