Announced attendance for yesterday's game - TIGERCITY - 09-01-2019 07:03 AM

Crowd look pretty good considering there weren't any Ole Miss fans there:-)

When Ole Miss has lost the Memphis market . . . . ....

RE: Announced attendance for yesterday's game - Tigers2B1 - 09-01-2019 07:20 AM

RE: Announced attendance for yesterday's game - Hernando Hills Tiger - 09-01-2019 07:23 AM

Thanks, I have been looking everywhere for an actual number.
That is about what it looked like.

The ESPN app usually posts it within 30 minutes of the end of the game.

Looks like same system as last year.

44K is a joke.

48K min.

Felt closer to 50. How many seats are lost in the tarped end zone? 1,500?

Other than that only the corners seemed thin.

Mississippi brought maybe 4? Usually they have maybe 6-8?

We were already in our seats but heard from late arrivals that there were massive lines for walk up tickets.

Southern game is also 11a and I guess the crowd will be around 26, with typical late tailgaters and late arrivals, streaming in during plays saying sorry, sorry. Wait for a natural break folks.

Definitely wasn't 14k empty seats. Even Coach Norvell took notice of the crowd. Anyway I can't wait to get lower level tickets next week for a cheaper price than the nosebleed tickets for this game.

I think the official capacity is now 58K and change

nevertheless it looked closer to 50 than 44K

Why would University allow the attendance to be understated? Are they paying the City by the head count?

Keep in mind, the higher you get, the more spread out people are. If everyone was sitting right above the number, you are literally packed in and can barely move.

The TV shots of I guess the East side showed empty areas up at the top. Like someone said, people spread out when there is room around them, maybe move up a row. I was thinking upper 40's from TV, but not factoring a "spread out" effect.

It did look to be a significantly lower percentage of red than I've noticed in the past. The first home game against them I went to in the late 80's seemed like it was nearly half red. Even some on TV in the 2000's have had an embarrassingly high percentage of red.

RE: Announced attendance for yesterday's game - AlonsoWDC - 09-01-2019 05:49 PM

Probably 8K Ole Miss.

They bring 12-15K on their best days.

RE: Announced attendance for yesterday's game - Titans3775 - 09-01-2019 06:29 PM

This was announced as 55k which looks about right when considering those who bought tickets and no showed. We have a serious counting issue that needs to be addressed. These crowds look nearly identical so what changed?

our"counting method" has obviously changed. Last year our former AD had the dumbazz idea of using actual attendance [at the same time that ticket counting went south at the Liberty Bowl.] EVERY OTHER SCHOOL announces tickets sold plus tickets distributed as attendance.

I'm still holding onto the theory that they're just not counting the student section at all.

That's what I think as well. It looked like 5 or 6 thousand students which would've been around 50K.
