Indy Bowl on life support? - TTT - 08-09-2019 03:24 PM

The ACC/SEC will no longer be sending their teams to the Indy Bowl.

As a result, Walk-On's have officially dropped their sponsorship of the bowl. The 2019 Indy Bowl will be their last sponsor of the bowl.

The Indy Bowl isn't part of ESPN's pool of bowls (they don't want to sell the rights to ESPN out of fear of the possibility that if ESPN owns it they could move the location if they wanted to and the city of Shreveport doesn't want that to happen).

I could be wrong but I think the PAC12 had some type of secondary agreement w/ the Indy Bowl but that was contingent on having an ACC/SEC opponent...but regardless, this isn't looking good for the Indy Bowl. I think the best case scenario for this bowl would be for CUSA to anchor themselves into this bowl vs. an AAC or MWC team. What do you foresee happening to the Indy Bowl? Future tie-ins?
