Thanks. I am cutting the cord at the end of September and appreciate this. Much respect if you can continue throughout the year. I use MattSarz website, but there's no way to filter out the freebies easily. I have ESPN+. I'm sure I will have enough content to tide me over.

RE: Week 1 TV Schedule - MWC Tex - 08-21-2019 09:13 PM

Updated for Week 1.

Since the ACC had some Raycom games last year, I looked through this years schedule and some games had TV as RSN. So there may be some games that will be OTA via Raycom affiliates. There are none in Week 1 but looks like a couple ACC game will be on Week 2. There is a MyTV station that was affiliated with Raycom for ACC games. We'll see if that is the case this year in which I'll add some of these ACC games that I'll list as free viewing games.

Raycom was purchased by Gray Communications of Atlanta, GA. You might try looking Gray up. They have over 200 stations now.

RE: Week 1 TV Schedule - Hokie Mark - 08-22-2019 09:10 AM

The pressure to compete financially between conferences has forced the vast majority of games off of free tv and onto pay tv. Sad, but it is what it is.

First, I love you MWC, but I think you should re-title this thread. There's no inking that the only games listed are the free ones for cord cutters. Again, no disrespect, we do have cord cutters around here so a weekly post that highlights all the free games that weekend is a great idea but the title should reflect it.

Second, IMO this Thursday and Friday lineup shows the real downside to trying to go the totally free route. Sure, Saturdays are fine because all the big OTA networks air games, but this coming Thursday all you can access is this piddly M-State vs NAU game, while you would be missing a lot of good games both night.

And with a lot of games coming on ESPN+, if I was a cord-cutter I'd at least spring the $5 a month for that during August through November.
