Do we potentially have the best frontcourt in the nation? - Dak10 - 05-17-2019 10:27 PM

Precious and Wiseman (#1) are top-10 projected picks. Freshman Dandridge, junior Thomas, and senior Maurice backing them up is quality. Add in Rayjon and DJ at small forward and this should be the best frontcourt in the nation based off of projections.

Surrounding that with knockdown shooting and I cannot wait!

I know. It is unbelievable isn’t it.

Yes. And we may have the best backcourt too

Add Trendon and we can probably take it to the wiizards

Backcourt, frontcourt, however, you measure an elite team, this is one.

not just that...er should be able to play any style...
if we need to run...we can run
if we need to slow it down and play half court sets...we can do that too.
Someone wants to play zone...we can shoot over it...
Or we can pound it inside if that's what we want to do.
Pick your poison.

Wiseman and Precious are just flat out BEASTS and are going overwhelm many opponents.

There may be a deeper or more experienced front line out there, but there is not another combination of raw size, athleticism and talent like these two.

This will be our best frontcourt due since Vaughn and Lorenzen, or Keith Lee and William Bedford.

Think about what "one and done" has done to college basketball.

If Lee and Bedford could have left after one year, they probably would have.

Can you imagine what a seasoned, 3-4 year groomed Lee and Bedford would do to freshmen Wiseman and Precious??...........they would make them cry and go home on the blacktop. Just sayin.

So, we are adding Trendon and I don't know how we are going to make the minutes or the scholarships work but **** it let's just take everyone and win the god damned thing.

^lol at what gets the * and what gets to be said.

I had prior thoughts about our front court being a force to be reckoned with. I liked the idea of Dandridge being our bull in the post. IMO he gives us another element when teams are trying to be physical with us. Am I the only one that’s a little concerned about his injury/availability this season?

With the addition of Precious maybe it doesn’t matter, but Malcolm definitely seems to have some extra muscle to throw around.

I think we will certainly be elite come tournament time. But with all of the new faces and all of the inexperience I think we can expect some surprising losses during the first third of the season. At least that has been my experience watching teams constructed like this one. Also expect the fans of other schools to revel in and make broad sweeping generalizations with each early loss 03-wink

I find it really strange. There’s been literally no news about the real diagnosis since the initial “muscle or bone bruise?” Yet, after rest and a month and a half of rehab he still wasn’t good and underwent surgery. Now he’s been set back to December/January? Somebody has kept this really quiet 03-shhhh

Imagine if we could keep Wisman and Precious for 4 years. 04-cheers

Respectfully disagree, I like that Penny is taking THIS team to the Bahamas for I think it’s 9 , or 10 days. It’s a trip they can only do once every 4 years. They get almost exclusively unlimited work/practice with the guys and some regional competition as well to see where we stand.
I trust the staff will find the perfect mix of going hard practicing and having some fun team building activities for chemistry as well. I say all that to say this, I feel like this team will be a close one and realize how special this opportunity is. Penny isn’t trying to take L’s from anybody in early November or December. The Non-Conf schedule has improved big time this year, and those will be the big national audience games. Tigers will be ready! 04-cheers

Yeah that’s what concerns me. It was first reported as a minor meniscus injury that wouldn’t require surgery. Now he’s out the first half of the season (and we’re only in May)? Someone mentioned him potentially being redshirted, which would be a bummer (for several reasons). Either way, good information seems like it has been hard to come by.

There’s 200 minutes to go around. 10 players could average 20 minutes a piece. I know some will get more and some will get less. But there are enough minutes if the player earns them.

Man, if we could have those two and rewind the clock 35 years...........wow, we would be awesome.

Today, if we keep them four years, it would probably lead to the doom of Penny and our program. How strange time changes things......exact same event happens, two completely opposite outcomes. Just weird.

And if we happen to miss a shot we will get the offensive rebound for a 2nd chance opportunity.

Can you imagine trying to rebound against these guys?

Only issue is freshmen bigs tend to foul waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much.

But when you have 3 McDonalds All-Americans as your bigs you can adjust.
