Who saw Blue Chips in the theater? - micman - 04-28-2019 06:48 PM

I was a sophomore in college in Georgia. I dragged a friend who had never heard of Penny Hardaway to see it with me.

VHS

not in the theater, but I have the DVD and have watched it multiple times

Even James Wiseman said he watched it 3 times

it is quintessential bball recruiting behind the scenes, even back then as it was shot in the early 90's

Happy, Pete, The SAT, Mom's asking for and receiving homes with a lawn, etc....

I rented it once back when Netflix was DVD-only.

Just an FYI for anyone with young kids. There are about 50 GD’s from Nolte in the opening scene

Young kids need to learn the most.

Like any good Tiger fan of the era, I saw it in theater.

Went with a few buddies after school to see it. Outside of mom taking us there in a minivan, it was great.

Great quote:

Quote:Dwayne, you can get through college half-assed. Richard, you can get through LIFE half-assed. But I'll guarantee you boys one thing: sure as hell, I'll guarantee you this: you cannot *win* half-assed!

Was lucky enough to go to the Memphis premiere. It was awesome. At the time Penny's only sponsorship was King cotton and got a KC Penny Rookie card as we walked out of the theater.

I was there. It was at the Orpheum I think.

I was at the matinee for the first Memphis run. One of the best basketball films (along with Hoosiers).
