2019 MBB non-conference - BeagleUSM - 03-29-2019 01:58 PM

Who are all of you playing?

Sadler was just on local radio and our schedule next season is a doozy. Along with the Atlantis event, we also have games at Alabama, Iowa State, LSU, and Memphis. Could be the toughest OOC in America.

We have Arkansas coming to Diddle. Not sure on anything else. We have been playing Belmont nearly every year recently, not sure if that series continues or not. We have also been playing 1-2 MVC teams each season, as well as an OVC team or two (in addition to Belmont). Not sure about any sort of early season tournament. We have played in one each of the last two seasons. Stansbury has typically scheduled pretty aggressively, I hope that trend continues.

Gotta play the LSU, Alabama, ISU and Memphis games to help pay for the Bahamas trip. 05-stirthepot The Bahamas tournament includes North Carolina, Gonzaga, Michigan, Oregon, Iowa St, Seton Hall, and Alabama. It probably does help getting the Bama, LSU, Memphis games that we got our NET in the 90s so it's not a complete drain on the money teams like we would have been in the past. Just hope the brutal schedule doesn't do us in confidence/record wise to where we are similar to what MTSU did this past year and have 10 losses before CUSA play starts by playing 7 top 100 OOC teams with 5 of those being top 50 04-jawdrop

So far we have:

@Rhode Island
@Eastern Kentucky
@Wright State
Belmont
U of L - Nashville
Arkansas
Austin Peay
Paradise Jam (Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Fordham, Grand Canyon, Illinois State, Nevada, Valparaiso)

So, we could conceivably play Alabama and Iowa State trice next year?

I was wondering the same thing. Wasn't sure if the Bama/Iowa St games were true road games or ones as part of the Bahamas trip.

RE: 2019 MBB non-conference - BeagleUSM - 03-29-2019 04:25 PM

Iowa State and Alabama are individual games. Go to Eagle Hour on Apple podcasts or Spotify and start at 7:45.

How exciting. Sounds like he went to the Ray Harper school of scheduling.

Also trying to get preseason games against Golden State, OKC, the 76ers, and Celtics.

This site is always good about talking about tournament fields. I don't know if any tournaments listed here haven't been mentioned in this thread yet or not.

ODU is in the Cayman Islands Classic but it’s not a great field (New Mexico State and Soith Florida might be the best teams in it). VCU on the road, Richmond at home. Rumor of a buy game at St. John’s.

Marshall not going to play Ohio?

RE: 2019 MBB non-conference - wh49er - 04-01-2019 03:15 PM

Not a whole lot is known on Charlotte's front:

Davidson (Home)
Wake Forest (Home)
James Madison (Road)

Also based on the past, we will probably play ECU again.

Pretty good schedule, cant say we aren't ducking anyone.

The Ohio game is in the Ohio's ADs hands. From what I heard he wasn't willing to extend the Marshall series if Saul Phillips was still there, Marshall went 4-1 against Phillips. Ohio is used to either splitting the series or at best going 3-2 in a 5 game series with the Herd.

With Phillips out and Boals in, maybe he will sign a new 5-6 year home and home series. Marshall and Ohio should play in every sport both of them have since the schools are only 88 miles apart.

Dude, the Herd is still playing this season!

UTEP is slated to play in the Diamond Head Classic. The field is: Hawaii, Washington, Georgia Tech, Boise St., Houston, Portland and Ball State.

I am sure UTEP will play a home and home with NMSU and hopefully we get UNM to come to El Paso next year. No word on anything else.

MUBB has Wisconsin-Green Bay in CIT championship Thursday night. BTW The Elmores passed the Currys(Dell and Steph) as alltime scoring duo in NCAA history.
