Luke must have heard the UC job opened up.

who's the UC fan around here that will have UCLA in their sig first? Bets or odds on favorites?

I believe Walton already turned them down. After what Walton’s been through. Probably not up for a massive UCLA rebuild

Not that anyone really cares, but since his name briefly came up in conversation regarding the UC position, the Enquirer mentioned Pat Kelsey as possible candidate at NKU. That would make a lot of sense. Pat's sister Katie, his brother Mike and his brother in law Paul Cluxton all played for NKU and are in their HOF.

Wouldn't mind Darren Savino getting a look at NKU either. Mick has been speaking highly of him and it would be interesting to see what he can do.

That would make a lot of sense and imagine he'd love to be closer to home.

St Johns was actually turned down by Porter Moser so he could stay at Loyola. St. John’s is a disaster.

I don't recall exactly so there might not have been much of a window, but St. John's probably should have made a big play for Mick. Maybe they underestimated his availability? Obviously, he can do rebuilds and I always felt that if Mick had his druthers he'd be coaching in the Big East with NYC and the tourney in Madison Square Garden and recruiting out East. If they'd have made an aggressive play they might have convinced him to go for it instead of waiting out UCLA (although I'm not in the mood to check on the timing of all this.)

Might they consider Savino at this point especially if they are keen on getting a Catholic (btw I don't know Savino's religious preference)?

I agree. Mick would have been a much better fit at SJU than UCLA.

Maybe he'll just move on next year instead, but I thought Porter Moser's twitter letter to Loyola fans was pretty classy. Can't hurt with recruiting at least:

I like the d for Stackhouse. Not that this guys take is worth anything. Hoiberg at Nebraska is likely compared to their history which is pretty vacant.

Eh...I'm skeptical of this guys knowledge. Buzz Williams a B hire? He describes Buzz as a coach who plays a slow tempo, based solely on this season's stats (which he did), but if you look over the years Buzz's tempo has varied based on personnel. He's not a coach you think about as a grind it out guy, because he is not married to that style. His comparison to Virginia for style of play was silly, but people see a slow team (one season in this case) and think Virginia.

Ya, he seemed like he basically looked up career records/jobs and judged from there.

He's getting clicks though, right?

Mike Anderson is now the front runner. Odd fit, no ties to the Nyc/Nj area at all. Savino would have been an interesting hail mary.

John Beilein just took the Cavs job.

That is very surprising!
