Memphis football schedule dropping this morning - HornLakeTiger - 02-07-2019 10:19 AM

Should be released anytime now. John Martin tweeted that the Tigers should be hosting Cincinnati on Black Friday.

Six home games...three of them in September.

After that, three home games in two months. That's gonna be tough.

All in all very nice.

Really nothing to ***** about even though most find something to.

Open in conference at home. Close at home.

Major Thursday game. Major Friday game. Everything else Saturday (I'm sure there will be time to complain about kickoff times).

Nice warm-weather road game @USF in November.

The at South Alabama game still puzzles me. Overall, it is a good home schedule.

RE: Memphis football schedule dropping this morning - cscottl1981 - 02-07-2019 11:06 AM

At South Alabama and at UL-Monroe? Why?

That's been known for a couple of years now.

The Why part may never be known though.

Was it part of a two-for-one deal or just a home-and-home?

I believe this year is the end of both of those series.

I guess a home and home. We played UL-Monroe here in 2017 and South Alabama here last year.

Hopefully we don’t end up regretting one of those. We didn’t exactly smash NA last year at home.

So me and mine only have to cross the bay to watch the Tigers play.03-cloud9

Coach has cited recruiting reasons for all the SBC games. IMO, the one that seems like an iffy trip as far as recruiting goes is N. TX as they are in Dallas every other year anyway. As many players as Nashville and Birmingham have produced, MTSU and UAB seem like better picks than Troy or Ark. St. LA Tech would be better than ULM from a competitive standpoint as well.

RE: Memphis football schedule dropping this morning - mairving - 02-07-2019 11:39 AM

I will have to look it up but it seems like the South Alabama series might be 2 home games for them and 1 for us. They are opening a new stadium in 2020.
