Murry Bartow's UCLA team went to Oregon tonight to take on the Ducks.
They were down 17 points at one point. They were down 9 with a minute to go, but came back to send the game to overtime. They just won the game in overtime.
This is a talented team that had obviously stopped playing under Alford. Murry's going to parlay this temp job into a good gig.

A good example how things can change over time. I recall the UAB 1 UCLA 0 car tags when the UAB program was new. Now we get a chance to become UCLA fans in this era.

I want Murry to do well, but I am not a fan of UCLA. Their fans are obnoxious and arrogant like Alabama football or Kentucky basketball.
The other day, one of their fans on twitter was saying that Murry might "redeem" Gene Bartow. I can't be a fan of any school where their fans believe that Gene Bartow needs redeeming.

This falls in line with some of the reasons why Gene Bartow left UCLA.

I hope he does. He wins his first game and one of the first things I read him say is that he misses his Dad. Choked me up. Nothing compared to Murry but, damn, I miss him too.
I hope Murry takes them to the Final Four. Down 9 with a minute and they win in OT? I think Gene has a seat on the bench.
