Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-03-2019 06:58 PM updated from guy from Bracketville (#2 bracketologist) #20 Marquette #26 Seton Hall #29 St John's #32 Villanova #38 Creighton #73 Butler #77 Georgetown #82 Providence #95 Xavier Would be really ugly of course if those are the seeds.... a 5 seed, and then 4 teams in the 7-10 soup.... RE: Updated Seed List - GoldenWarrior11 - 01-03-2019 07:38 PM Regardless of seeds, many of the Big East teams have shown flashes of competing with anyone. Come March, after conference and tournament play, many of the NCAA tournament teams will be better. They each have the capability of knocking off higher teams. Even though they are young, Villanova is still the reigning national champion; I doubt many teams will be eager to draw them if they are able to make the tournament. The problem though IMO is that the seeds that the Big East teams look to get are going to be in that 7-10 soup that is just not conducive for advancement. Playing first off a pretty darn good team in rd 1- his bracket today had them playing Maryland, Clemson, TCU, and Arizona St- and then if they win there- getting like today- Duke, Michigan St, Virginia, and Michigan in the 2nd round. That's not easy in the least. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-15-2019 09:41 AM saw this from Lunardi today Marquette 5 E vs Dayton, Maryland in San Jose Seton Hall 9 S vs TCU, Michigan in Columbus Villanova 5 MW vs Hofstra, Buffalo in Hartford St John's 10 MW vs Iowa St, Michigan St in Des Moines St John's 4th team with bye Butler 1st team out Creighton 2nd team out Nova and Marquette out of the soup right now. But Seton Hall a 9 and St John's a 10 show how precarious they are. If Creighton beats St John's we're likely seeing both of them on Friday in his new First Four. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - GoldenWarrior11 - 01-15-2019 09:52 AM Remarkable considering the early struggles in conference from Butler and Creighton, yet they are still on the cusp of being projected into the tournament. If either of them can get a string of wins together, it would bump them in - but continue losing and they are surely on the outside entering the BET. True but they to get in need to finish above .500 now in their remaining 15 games(14 regular season 1st game BET). Anything less than 8-7 and they're out. I'd also suggest that Creighton is no where near as close as Lunardi projects. I mean look at their team sheet. Yeah it's great they have a brutal schedule. But they're 0-7 in their 7 toughest games. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-15-2019 06:28 PM Now, one thing that I would argue is that Butler realistically would be in right now. Lunardi has Boise St in from the MWC as the auto bid given they're leading the league right now instead of Nevada. So if you factor that in, Butler would get in as the last team in. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-18-2019 02:08 PM Lunardi update from today: St John's 9 W Jacksonville vs Miss St, Duke Villanova 5 W Salt Lake vs Lipscomb, Houston Marquette 5 S Hartford vs Murray St, Buffalo Butler 11 S Jacksonville FF vs Temple, Purdue, UNC Seton Hall 10 S Des Moines vs Ole Miss, Kansas Seton Hall 4th team with bye Butler last team in Creighton 5th team out Still think he's a bit high on Creighton.... Their schedule is great. Their record is not. Any team with Creighton's profile IMO shouldn't be remotely close to the tourney.. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-25-2019 09:35 AM from Lunardi: Marquette 4S San Jose vs Radford, LSU Villanova 6E Tulsa vs Ariz St/Minnesota, Houston St John's 10W Salt Lake City vs Oklahoma, Gonzaga Seton Hall 11MW San Jose vs Auburn, Nevada St John's 2nd last team with bye Seton Hall last team with bye Butler 2nd team out Creighton 7th team out gigantic game tonight between Butler and Creighton. Butler might be able to get back in bracket with win, and Creighton if they don't win would fall out of the last 8 out you would figure. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-25-2019 11:51 PM man, Butler is in deep trouble I think.... I think both them and Creighton probably now like 4-5th teams out give or take a bit... RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-26-2019 10:29 PM updated from this morning from guy from Bracketville (#2 bracketologist) 11 Marquette 17 Villanova 35 St John's 37 Seton Hall Butler 74- 6th out Creighton 75-7th out Providence 82-14th out Xavier 87-19th out DePaul 91-23rd out where Xavier is with that projection, they're going to be real close to the bubble for the NIT. DePaul as well- they're probably bubble out given there's normally at least 10 NIT bid thieves. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-27-2019 10:46 PM going to be really interesting to see how far St John's and Seton Hall I think in particular fall tomorrow in not only the NET ratings, but bracketology. I wouldn't be surprised if we see tomorrow Marquette and Nova in as 3-5 seeds, and then St John's in FF. And that's it. P5 are going to get a ton of teams. Not just with Big East but AAC Temple and UCF with losses today.. Someone has to go. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-28-2019 01:19 PM from Bracketville guy- 10 Marquette 15 Villanova 41 St John's 42 Seton Hall (last 2 teams with byes) 69 Butler- 1st 72 Creighton- 4th 74 Providence- 6th 85 Georgetown- 17th 88 DePaul- 20th brackets are: 3MW Marquette vs UC Irvine, LSU in Des Moines 4E Villanova vs Vermont, Iowa in Salt Lake City 11S Seton Hall vs Oklahoma, UNC in Jacksonville 11W St John's vs Wisconsin, Louisville in Hartford It's funny for Seton Hall and St John's- if they could have that position, that would be absolute best case scenario for them right now. In tourney, no first four, and out of the 7-10 soup. RE: Updated Seed List/Bracketology - stever20 - 01-29-2019 01:01 AM Lunardi today with updated bracketology Marquette 3 Villanova 4 St John's 11(last team with bye) Seton Hall 12(next to last team in, first 4) Creighton 2nd team out Butler 3rd team out like it or not, St John's and Seton Hall extremely tenuous right now. A game like St John's/Creighton might put Creighton in tourney, but knock St John's out. Same next weekend with Seton Hall/Butler. |
