It's really not accurate but this image apparently was projected onto the Lakewood Church (Joel Osteen's Mega Church in Houston) yesterday by two outside groups completely unconnected to Osteen. They quickly had it taken down.

I realize it's not accurate at all, but I thought it was noteworthy just because of where they did it (for those not in Houston, Lakewood Church is the former home of the Houston Rockets and is highly visible along one of the busiest freeways in the country).

The left really need to find Jesus instead of incorrectly citing history or what he would do.

RE: Jesus was a migrant - banker - 12-24-2018 09:55 AM

They won't find Jesus at Osteen's church.

He was a community organizer!

Migrant, not migrant.... doesnt really matter to me. How Jesus would have me treat refugees matters more. Locking kids in cages? Doubt he would thumbs up that.

RE: Jesus was a migrant - ericsrevenge76 - 12-24-2018 10:50 AM

Next they will be telling us Jesus supported homosexuality and transgenderism, including raising gender neutral babies. Or that Jesus supported abortion because the kid might have some struggles in life.

The ironic thing is these people are going to learn one day that there are walls and gates around New Jerusalem in Heaven, and many people will be locked out wailing and gnashing their teeth. IN fact there were walls around Jerusalem, the tabernacle and the temple through the OT times.

Oh the ignorance of these people.

There is a massive difference between helping the poor and not having a nation with borders or walls.

Jesus was an international Top Chef winning contestant, after
whipping up a spectacular fish-and-bread entree at the Restaurant on the amount.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Well I never heard you complain about it before Trump so is it really an issue for you? BTW the pics were from the previous administration.

Also WWJD? He has a wall around his land so people who don’t belong can’t get in. And while he doesn’t put people in cages he does cast them into a lake of fire.

So where was your outrage when Obama did it?

Are you sincerely interested in the welfare of those children, or just wanting to use them as pawns for political purposes? You answer to the first question will speak volumes.

The real question is where was the media outrage during the Obama administration over it? I was ignorant to the practice as were most Americans. I've posted a multitude of times on this forum saying it wouldve been abhorrent then just like now.

My values are not party dictated.

RE: Jesus was a migrant - HeartOfDixie - 12-24-2018 01:16 PM

The left seems to have pivoted towards a strategy of misconstruing religion to attack the religious.

That's the kind of thing you would expect on ESPN 8.

Maybe these radical leftists could explain how Jesus was a migrant. I would love to hear their explanation.

Hey! The only Jesus the left knows comes off of South Park. You might wonder why that is? Cartoons are the only thing that connects with them. That's why they voted for Beto, Pelosi, Obama, and a large number of other caricatures of social images rather than for concepts of government, issues like national defense and economy, etc. For them Jesus in South Park means he's an immigrant. Sponge Bob for president? Anyone? Anyone? I bet he would carry California!

Jesus as the Son of God was the transformative religious figure for his native country which happened to be occupied by a pagan (even by Jewish terms) alien military government. So in no way was Christ an immigrant.

But if you want to address immigrants using the teachings of Christ he encouraged assistance and hospitality to the sojourner within the gates. That meant to any stranger who was visiting your village or city. If the left knew their Bible then they would know how to utilize that for their arguments. However, Rome controlled all travel. Only Roman citizens could travel freely in and out of Roman held lands. The apostle Paul was able to start churches in Asia Minor precisely because he was recognized as a citizen of Rome and therefore had free access to travel. Now were there those who sneaked past Roman garrisons on foot utilizing Israel as a land bridge between 3 continents? Yes. There were even some who were able to do so by sea. But the Romans were somewhat more vigilant on these issues than the United States.

And yet here you are talking about it.

Not condemning the original offender.

Checkmate, cons.

Jesus was a migrant, so every third-worlder (all 6 billion or so) has a hooman right to come to America, and you have to pay for it. And if you criticize the resulting debt/death spiral, you're a racist. Because we all know that "migrant" is a race.

Abhorrent is allowing them to stay with the people they cross the border with, assuming they are their parents. You support child trafficking.
