Looks very nice. Looks like the Blazers are all in and ready to move up to bigger and better things.

Much nicer than the dump you currently play in, but man I really just don't like that design much. Maybe it's just because it's a low quality render.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's gonna be owned by the city, and that UAB will lease it for practices and games, somewhat similar to UTSA leasing the Alamodome for games. So it's not as though it belongs to UAB. Still a very nice addition though.

It's just a concept drawing. The final design is underway. Regardless I won't complain and visiting fans will have a nicer experience with the Uptown restaurants and bars literally next door to it.

I LOVE this design!!! Love how the press box side is small compared to rest of the “Bowl” so to speak. I assume it’s all chairbacks for season tix holders?

One concern: It looks like it seats A LOT of people. I wouldn’t think you’d want to build something as large as Legion field.

55k seats.

I think this will also replace Legion for the Birmingham bowl game.

Still seems a bit large to me. In the 12 years of the B’ham Bowl’s existence, it has only eclipsed 45000+ three times: Twice topping 59,000 and another at 45,254. I would think 45K would be just the right size, maybe 50K. Maybe I’m wrong, but it just seems like a lot of empty stadium.

I spoke with a UAB poster about this last year, I think. He was of the thinking that Birmingham is going to maintain Legion because it’s an historical landmark (unless I misunderstood him).

Birmingham will maintain legion field for Magic City Classic and other events. UAB will be the primary tenant at the new stadium and the bowl will be played at the new stadium.
