4th OOC game for 2020 season - TTT - 12-12-2018 12:53 PM Currently our OOC schedule for the 2020 season is: vs. USA @ Auburn @ Liberty ???? What do y'all think we'll do w/ the 4th game? Home game vs. cream puff/SWAC? Money game @ (insert SEC school) like we're doing in 2019? H/H w/ a respectable G5'er? or even a low-level P5? I'd like to see us try to get another H/H with a beatable P5 school who's willing to travel/expand their brand into the south, someone like Oregon State, Kansas State, Iowa State, Illinois, Rutgers, Minnesota. IF we can get a h/h with a beatable P5 program, do it, but they always want to be the 1st game in a h/h series. Kansas, Wake Forest, Baylor, etc. If not, I would really like to see us schedule East Carolina, Memphis or Houston again. I always enjoyed the rivalries with those teams. I'd even be ok with Tulane. RE: 4th OOC game for 2020 season - EagleFWB - 12-13-2018 09:04 AM Agreed.... Memphis, ECU, or Houston. FYI, Tulane is on the schedule. home/home I believe. Memphis, ECU, or Houston. I'd love this but it ain't happening anytime soon unless some deals are made. Memphis, ECU, and Houston's OOC games are already scheduled for them until like 2024: 2020: ECU - vs. Marshall, @ South Carolina, vs. Norfolk St, @ Va Tech Memphis - vs. Ark State, @ Purdue, vs. UT Martin, @ UTSA Houston - vs. Rice, @ Wash. State, vs. UNT, @ BYU 2021: ECU - vs. App State, vs. South Carolina, @ Marshall Memphis - vs. Northern Colo, @ Ark. State, vs. Miss. State, vs. UTSA Houston - vs. Boise State, @ Rice, vs. Texas Tech, @ Vandy We could try to schedule a H/H w/ ECU starting in 2021 but we'd have to go there first and they wouldn't be able to make a return trip to Hattiesburg until 2026. Looking at other G5's OOC schedules, I've noticed that the AAC pretty much has like 90% of their OOC games set for the next 8 years. Seems like CUSA is just sitting around twiddling their thumbs...what else is new. RE: 4th OOC game for 2020 season - usm99 - 12-13-2018 10:24 AM My guess is a Louisiana SWAC school as we will have played JSU and Alcorn both recently. I realize we are playing them this upcoming year (2019) but Troy has 2 openings for 2020 so they could come here to give us 6 home games and we could go there for the return game in in 2023 as our only OOC road game is Ms State so far. I would say 2022 but considering we don't have a P5 already scheduled that year I feel like that's going to be the other road OOC game 2020 USM - South Alabama, at Auburn, at Liberty Troy - at UMass, NC State 2021 USM - at South Alabama, at Alabama Troy - Liberty, at South Carolina 2022 USM - Liberty, at Tulane Troy - at Ole Miss, at WKU 2023 USM - Tulane, at Mississippi State Troy - at Kansas St, WKU |
