Another Reason To Be Glad To Be Out Of The AAC - Transic_nyc - 12-10-2018 09:55 PM https://awfulannouncing.com/ncaa/american-athletic-conference-lock-in-ucf.html It's not even the money or the fact that it's out of the power group, but the lack of respect that they continue to show certain member in favor of others. The old Big East had the same problems with certain programs being featured over others, such as the likes of Syracuse, UConn, Georgetown, Notre Dame constantly hogging the attention. Or the special deals they gave Navy and ND, previously. Only the current Big XII could be the closest to what's going on with the American Athletic Conference. You are still a forgotten school in a G5 conference. I noticed that your school wasn't mentioned as a target for P5 expansion, nor special consideration for a higher share of media rights money. I'm thinking the AAC needs to leave things alone. Right now the conference seems stable and trending in the right direction. If a P5 conference were to expand, I doubt the AAC GOR would stop a target school from jumping ship. The $$$ to be made by moving up would dwarf any penalty payment made to the AAC. In the mean time, having a two tier media rights payout system will only breed discontent between member schools. |
