New 5 year deal that runs through 2023 with a base salary of $1.45M starting next year and rising to $1.65M in the final year. Huge news for UAB!

That is great news for UAB and CUSA.

That's also a big time G5 salary if you ask me.

Good to see, well deserved.

I'd be more pumped about the salary increase than anything. Once your school pays a certain salary, you consider that amount competitive in the future. For instance, WKU upped Brohm's salary to $800k. We hired Sanford for $800k. We are hiring our new coach for $800k. That doesn't mean that they are equal to Brohm, it is just that the athletics departments know that keeping the salary high between hires makes them "artificially" inflate what they can offer coaches in the future. This means in the future UAB will be able to offer ~$1.5 million when searching for a new coach. This makes them much more competitive in the long term.

I am shocked. As a Blazer fan I figured the BOT would see to it that he was hired away.
Is this real life!

clt says this is good.

We have budgeted $1M+ for our coach, so things are looking good in cusa

That should keep him at UAB unless a really great P5 job opens. Good Job!

Congrats, Blazers. Clark has earned it and y’all deserve the success.

Thankfully the BOT and Bear Jr did not get involved again. What they did to your program a few years back will never be forgiven.

Wow. I didn't expect it.

This along with the stadium, new facilities, and our donor push means we are serious about our football program as a university...finally.

I would not wish that on my worst enemy. Seriously. And, personally, I’d be happier seeing him in Tuscaloosa than Louisville (though it’s close and both at the bottom). UL fans have never missed even the smallest opportunity to be as detestable as they can. Hell, they’ve invented new ways over the decades.

Everyone should have someone who loves them as much as Tom Jurich loves Tom Jurich.

Will they be rebuilding the next 2-3 years?
