RE: Cacock and Toews Among Nation's Statistical Leaders - 70shawk - 11-27-2018 06:39 AM

Cacok obviously leads the CAA in Rebounds per game. He is #1 in both offensive and defensive rebounding. He also leads the conference in FG%.

Toews leads the CAA in Assists per game. Kai is # 4 in the CAA in Assist/Turnover ratio.

Ty Gadsden is #1 in the CAA in 3 point% at 60%. Jay Estime is #2 @ 52%

Cylla, Fornes, and Toews are on the CAA leaderboard in FT%...but everyone on there right now is posting impressive numbers.

On a less favorable note,as a team, UNCW is next to last in both scoring defense and assist to turnover ratio.

In 7 games ,as a team, we have had 95 assists and turned the ball over 116 times.

Solve those two problems and it looks to me like this team could get rolling..

Nice. What's been killing us are # of turnovers and points allowed. Tighten that up and we can compete with a whole lot of people.

I'll confess that my not-so-secret dream is that Cacok would finish the year as national leader in double-doubles, giving him the national title in 3 different statistical categories in three different years - something which I do not believe has ever happened before.

Then they could bronze his jersey before they hang it in the rafters.

RE: Cacock and Toews Among Nation's Statistical Leaders - 70shawk - 12-03-2018 05:18 PM

Delaware's Ithiel Horton won the award this week on his own, his 2nd straight week receiving the award.

Sad that Toews has only gotten it once, and shared it with Horton.

The minutes this Horton kid is getting are absolutely absurd. He's played all but 3 mintutes combined in UD's last 3 games. Including playing all 50 in a double OT game versus Columbia. I haven't watched the Blue Hens but depth must be an issue for them...

something to watch as the season progresses. Especially important when it comes to a measuring stick for ROY

Toews is 8th in assists per game and Cacok is 11th in rebounds per game. Before the season, did anybody expect Toews's rank in assists to be better than Cacok's rank in rebounds?

What’s more surprising, your stat or the fact he only has ONE Rookie of the Week award and had to share it?

Assists are a very under rated part of the game.

Assists are a very under rated part of the game.

IMO, it’s also the most difficult to attain because after you do the work, you have to rely on a teammate to finish. No finish, no stat.

Agree, you miss a shot, that's on you, you miss a rebound that's on you, make a sweet pass and teammate misses the layup, is that really on you?
