Do you remember our last trip to Columbus and how we got completely screwed. Chris Moore ruled until he was not allowed. That game was a disgrace to those who claim any possibility of fair judging. Just like Roberts shows he is a fool to claim there are no Obama judges.

We will have to win by 20 to prevail, just like Congressional elections.

Fairness in 2018 America is a complete delusion.

We will get hosed - unless we win by 20.

Pretty sure that game in no way pivoted on that call.

Entertaining game, but not a game we were in anyway screwed out of.

WVU talking heads speculating that Texas Tech may give Dana Holgerson a call...and that Holgerson probably will entertain it.

That seems like it would be a lateral move to me. Maybe even a step backwards. Am I missing something?

I think it seems backwards. I do think Holgerson seems to be stuck getting WV over that last hump (Mark Richt Georgia/Bo Pelini Nebraska) Maybe he’s looking for a fresh start.

This was Holgerson's best team and in a "down" year for the Big XII... Expectations were high in Morgantown and WVU ended up finishing 4th in the Conference.

Tech can match the money and might be a natural "reset" for Holgerson. It depends if Holgs feels his seat warming up and decides to beat the mob out of town. FWIW, most WVU fans calling/texting into the radio show are expressing ambivalence over the prospect of Holgerson leaving.

Def seems like a lateral move, at best. Even when TT was at the height of its powers it was about on par with what WVU has done this season. Always on the verge of winning big, but never able to get over the hump. Which, is what Mike Leach is known for. Winning in high fashion against meh competition, and losing when it matters.

Anywho, I guess it makes sense if you just want a new start. Seems like a way to make life harder on yourself.

I've heard Holgorsen's name thrown around for the Colorado job. He evidently has some history in Colorado in some fashion, and they let go of Mike Macintyre last week. That was Mike "Jethro" Bohn's big hire. I could see why you would want to get out of Morgantown.

I can understand wanting out of Morgantown but Lubbock is hardly an upgrade. Neither is a garden spot.

One down...

For those who don't remember, he was there for almost a decade before his stint at Texas, and was extremely successful after two 1-10 seasons to start. 67-26-1 in his last 8 years with the Tar Heels, with a 4-2 record in bowl games and 5 post-season Top 25 appearances (highest was #4 in '97)

Well, he was an assistant coach at Texas Tech for 8 years. Maybe he likes the place. To each their own.

He was great at UNC, but it's been 2 decades.

Oh I know, he'll be out of there in 3 years...was just giving some historical perspective.

I tend to agree with this although ultimately it comes down to fan/school expectations. I mean, this is a team that got beat by ECU by 3 TDs this year. They need a lot of work.

Rumors floating around that former UC assistant Tyson Helton is leaving TN to be the new HC at Western KY

RE: 2018/2019 College Football Coaching Carousel - Romell Shorter - 11-26-2018 11:18 AM

Mack Brown? All apologies to Bill Snyder, but he'll be 68 before the season starts! Even though he might bring Chizik/Kingsbury with him, I shake my head.

I looked at that Tweet a few times, and thought each of those times that it was a solidly-played hoax. Nope. He's their coach.

I thought I had read he was going to be fired from his position as OC at TN (or maybe that was rumor)?

Seems to be all but confirmed at this point.

WKU has been a solid jumping off point for those that succeed there. Helton wasn't great at UT, but i guess we'll see.

Colorado: Mike MacIntyre ->
North Carolina: Larry Fedora -> Mack Brown
Maryland: DJ Durkin ->
Louisville: Bobby Petrino ->
Texas Tech: Kliff Kingsbury -> (Brent V, Jim L)
Kansas: David Beatty -> Les Miles

Western Kentucky: Mike Sanford -> Helton
Massachusetts: Mark Whipple ->
Charlotte: Brad Lambert ->
Texas State: Everett Withers ->
Bowling Green: Mike Jinks ->
Central Michigan: John Bonamego -> (ND asst coach)

included some rumored names in ()

Hey, look! North Carolina hired Tommy Tuberville.
