I hesitated on starting a new thread for this, but realized we don't have a dedicated thread to non-ODU non-CUSA basketball games of interest.

To get things started, Radford defeated Notre Dame last night 63-60. Travis Fields played 34 minutes, 4-10 FG, 1-4 3PT, 1 steal no turnvovers. 11 points.

Haha, I knew this was going to be about the Radford win before I clicked on it. Congrats to the Highlanders!

Our last win against ND was more impressive.

Mike Jones (not the ODU one) has done an amazing job there.

Anyone else going to try this out?

That's a good win for Radford. Glad to see that Travis had a nice game. Where was the game played?

South Bend.

St Joes and Wake Forest tied at 46 at the half in the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Taylor Funk is 5 for 5 from 3 pt land so far for the Hawks.

C'mon, Hawks

RE: 2018-19 Basketball Games of Interest - Gilesfan - 11-15-2018 01:19 PM

St. Joes might be legit this year.

RE: 2018-19 Basketball Games of Interest - odu09 - 11-15-2018 01:20 PM

St Joes defeat Wake Forest by 20

Wow. How good is WF supposed to be?

Picked to finish 2nd to last in the ACC, ahead of only Pitt. So not very good.

Wake is bad. Not sure how Danny Manning managed to hang on for another year.

UConn beat Syracuse, so that OOC game may have lost a little luster

Syracuse was without Frank Howard. They will be fine if he gets back.

UConn may be better than expected as well so it may not be a bad loss. New coach, historically top tier program... we'll see.

A new awful trend to save money. ESPN announces it will increase the amount of games it will broadcast remotely (announcers in the studio, not on site);

Probably won't affect ODU sports that much, they already just use our radio feed for most of the ESPN3 and ESPN+ broadcasts.

Agree. Lifeless, out of sync, little background or color commentary, not to mention saturating the market. What unforeseen consequences can this have?
