CAA Bball Gameday - billymac - 11-10-2018 04:35 PM

Charleston hangs on for a 77-74 win over W. Carolina.

Delaware is at St. Peter's later.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - billymac - 11-10-2018 07:18 PM

Blue Hens leading St. Peter's 42-33, in the 2nd.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - tribelifer - 11-15-2018 08:44 PM

Elon, Delaware and Northeastern were all winners. CAA 3-0 so far.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - tribelifer - 11-20-2018 08:05 PM

JMU trailing the Citadel, in the second half.

That's a bad loss for JMU

Good. They were bragging on their undefeated record (accomplished against all creampuffs).

The Charlotte win was decent, but the rest of their wins were a joke. Now they just lost at home to a creampuff.

Not a good day for CAA Football:

Wofford defeated Elon, 19-7
Duquesne leads Towson 24-10, in the 4th
SE Missouri ahead of Stony Brook 28-14, in the 4th
JMU on top of Delaware 12-6, in the 3rd

(I can hear the "over rated" chorus now.)

The Dukes are solid. I recall they came in here, threw two long bombs to big, athletic WR's and were up on us 14-0 early. We were lucky to win that game. They get a lot of transfers, and have good skilled players. CAA looks pretty sad today. The SB score is the surprise to me.

JMU with a win over No. Illinois. Davidson beats Northeastern by 9.

Let's hope Hofstra takes it to VCU tonight. I'm even rooting from him who shall not be named.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - billymac - 11-24-2018 08:28 PM

Hofstra trailing by 4, at VCU, with 10 minutes to go.

UNCW down by 9 to Gardner-Webb(!!), with 9:00 to go.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - Tribeheart - 11-24-2018 08:35 PM

Hofstra leading 49-46. Not a high quality game. VCU has started strong this year, but they are not St. Joe's level.

Hofstra choked in OT to lose to VCU. Ugly game. Hofstra cannot handle pressure defense, plays poor defense, and does not have a servicible CAA center. Wright-Foreman gets his points, but had no support, so, forced to try to do too much. CAA needed the A10 win.

JMU with a loss in OT to a not good Oral Roberts, 78-69.

Hofstra, Charleston and Northeastern all leading comfortably. Drexel down by 2, all in the 2nd Half.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - Zorch - 11-28-2018 08:47 PM

Duquesne and UIC are at 67-65 with 6:52 to go. UIC ahead.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - billymac - 11-28-2018 09:07 PM

Hofstra, Charleston and Northeastern all leading late. Drexel down 3 with 3:00 to go vs. NJIT.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - Tribeheart - 11-28-2018 11:46 PM

St. Joe's beat UIC, 89-75.

ODU came back to beat VCU, 62-52.

Greg Malinowski with 10 pts, 7 rebs and 5 assists in Georgetown's 90-82 win over Richmond.

UVA with a solid 76-71 win at MD, in battle of unbeatens. Will be interesting to see if they're still undefeated and if they're higher than #4 when we go into JPJ. We certainly need a road win before then.

CAA Bball Gameday - WM_Destro - 11-29-2018 08:10 AM

I was at the Georgetown game last night. Greg is a definitely a big part of the regular Hoya rotation. He fits their system well and demonstrated pretty much the same skill set as when he was here. Seems happy and that’s good for everyone.

I don’t think we missed a beat last year by not having him for what would have been his final senior year.

RE: CAA Bball Gameday - TribePride91 - 11-29-2018 05:37 PM

While it is still 4 weeks from opening night in the CAA conference schedule, Delaware appears to be better than I thought. Hofstra, NE(any news on Pusica?), and Charleston(nightmares over Riller) appear to be contenders with JMU and UNCW showing great uncertainty on where they fall right now. Probably the Tribe is currently in that category with some uncertainty so far. Drexel, Elon, and Towson look to have a ways to go to be competitive with the top of the league.

The CAA schedule will once again give the Tribe a shot at a good start with 5 of the first 7 conference games at home. Taking care of business at Kaplan in December and January will give the Tribe a chance to be at or the near the top of the league standings. With the conference schedule though, rallying from behind will be extremely difficult given our road woes so far since we face 5 of the final 7 conference games on the road.

4 weeks to try and get healthy and figure out the best rotation and roles for success. Still hoping for a little better defense overall. Even last night there were times where the defense was a little improved. At a minimum, they have got to play better defense than Hofstra and UNCW(our typical mates at the bottom of the conference in defense).
