Jyran Mitchell, a 2018 recruit, filed a false arrest lawsuit alleging that his his knee was injured during a false arrest, causing him to sit out his FR football season at NIU and defending his state track title. NIU is correctly taking the position that because the incident took place before he enrolled at NIU it is a personal matter. I am very pleased this does not adversely affect our team.
