Liberty @ UMass - army56mike - 10-21-2018 05:11 PM

Liberty has an off week to game plan and try to find some way to hide our weaknesses on defense and special teams. I still like the idea of Coach Wimbo in the booth.

UMass has a good chance to beat UConn prior to our arrival up there.

Go Linberty!

03-lmfaoI’ll fix that.

The forecast is partly cloudy and 54 for a high.

For those that can not make the game, try ElevenSports, NESN or on game day try the live stream.

For any of you guy's making the trip, stop by our tailgate in Lot 11. Mike should have his white UMass flag up.

Here is the visitor's guide and check out he parking map. Lot 22 for advance parking passes, $5 plus $5 handling/fee.

This season has been a bust, but feel good now beating old Yankee Conference rival UConn.

Looking forward to next week. I think it should be competitive.

With the excitement of bowl talk, I’m not hearing a lot of excitement about going to UMass and getting a win. I know we are capable, but if we have a non-Troy type defensive performance, I don’t expect to win up there. UMass is a very capable team, with some outstanding pieces.

If I had to guess right now, I’m going...

UMass 42 - 38 Liberty

FYI and assume you know, our first string QB - Ford is out and his college career is now complete.

Yes, I did know that, and it is unfortunate. However, our defense can make any QB look like an All American..... so far.

Weather update a little warmer but rain 80%.

Rain showers in the morning becoming a steady light rain in the afternoon. High 59F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

Rain and bad weather seem to go consistently with LU this season.

RE: Liberty @ UMass - GE and MTS - 10-31-2018 05:02 PM

I am cautiously optimistic about the game. If we can get the defense rolling, I believe in our offense to score enough to put us in position to win so our defense just needs to hold UMass down. If we keep them under 30, I like our chances. It gets really fuzzy over 30 though.

I am more excited for a potential rivalry to develop. We play UMass in November in each of the upcoming seasons. They don't have an annual rivalry either as UConn and Boston College aren't regular opponents.

Check me on this, but I think that’s going to change.

One or both are on their schedule until 2023. We have matchups through 2025. I assume we will continue our series if we are both independent still but I'm not sure about UConn and Boston College.

So much for our improved defense. Luckily our offense showed up.

RE: Liberty @ UMass - Native Georgian - 11-03-2018 06:06 PM

UMass has now gained 700 yards of total offense.

45-45, probably going to overtime.

As soon as I say that we go on a -14 run. Gosh I can't wait to get rid of Gill.

RE: Liberty @ UMass - Native Georgian - 11-03-2018 06:13 PM

I once watched Navy gain 724 yards of total offense in a game and still lose because of multiple turnovers.
