I agree. The close game gave the cover for a tiny bump in ready of a #6 drop

RE: Poll predictions - Foreverandever - 10-14-2018 12:06 AM

UCF, 7th in one 8th in the other.

USF 20th if Colorado gets beat, 21st if not

Cincy 24th

Houston shows up a week late from my prediction, getting votes but may break through next week into the rankings.

RE: Poll predictions - ArmoredUpKnight - 10-14-2018 06:57 AM

I expect the pollsters to create some ridiculous sh^t to keep UCF at 9/10.

RE: Poll predictions - Chappy - 10-14-2018 07:20 AM

At first I was thinking they'd drop USF and possibly UCF because of their narrow escapes, but so many ranked teams lost (including 5 to unranked opponents) that they will probably end up rising... I'll say UCF 9, USF 22, Cincy 24

UCF starts getting squeezed/screwed right about now. They will likely move up 9 maybe even 8...but that is about it as teams below them will start passing them up.

USF will likely stumble its way to 21 or 22 b/c of all the upsets this week. My guess is that if the Bulls keep wining up to the ucf game we will be around 15-16 ranked.

Cincy will hold firm.

UCF and ND now have a relevant common opponent: Pitt.

Both teams got them at home.

UCF won 45-14 and never trailed / had substitutes in during 2nd half.

ND won 19-14 and had to come from behind late in the game.

But Pitt was a MUCH better team when they played Notre Dame.

...Everyone knows that.

And Pitt (like Auburn last year) couldn't get up to play a lowly G5 school.

I am amazed at how far UCF has come. I remember the days during the Daunte Culpepper run and not getting a bowl invite with 9 wins. Moved onto getting into run of the mills bowls. That started to become an expectation. Come 2013, and the prestigious bowls started coming. Now waking up this morning and I am simply amazed that we are now going to be part for the playoff conversation. What a ride it has been over the past 2 decades.

This program was built from scratch. Nothing was ever handed to them.

In the sports/realignment board's laughable scores of the week thread.....lots of cheerleading for 1 loss teams to "leapfrog" UCF.

RE: Poll predictions - MechaKnight - 10-14-2018 09:09 AM

We're at the point that 2-loss SEC teams and 1-loss other P5 teams are going to start jumping UCF to keep us safely away from #4

Yesterday's win was ugly and UCFs SOS is bad. I get it. But everyone except Bama has ugly wins or losses, and some of the other top 10s (Clemson and UGA come to mind) also have zero quality wins

I don't know.

There are only five A5 teams left undefeated and NC State will play Clemson. We are fast approaching the point of no return. I am quite sure the committee will try and screw them. They may not be able too. ND and UCF will share two common opponents and have similar strengths of schedule. UCF however will be playing ranked teams at the end of the season and ND will most likely not be. OSU, Penn St, and Michigan St still play Michigan. So that could go lots of ways.

If UCF is sitting around 5-7 when the cfp poll comes out I doubt the committee will be able to keep them out unless no one in front of them loses.

I can see the committee tanking us all the way back to #12-15 when their rankings come out.

I recall a 10-0 Houston team being ranked #21 or something like that in 2015.
