Now things get interesting. Ball State has played a similar non-con schedule to ours with the exception of the WKU game. Like us, they've looked really good at times but have managed just a 1-3 record. This may be as even a matchup as we have all year.

Question marks:
1) Can Woody B improve on his accuracy? Overthrows cost us several big gains and at least 1 potential TD vs Ole Miss.
2) Can the thin OL keep Woody B upright?
3) Will we come out strong after halftime or will we melt down yet again?
4) Can we penetrate BSU's stout OL? They've surrendered just 5 sacks this year and have helped the Cardinal run game average 5 yards per rush.

Before the season, I had this as a solid L for the Flashes. Now I think it's a toss up. BSU 28 KSU 24.

Im going FlashFast with a 38-21 win. Barrett will have a big game and the rest of the MAC will be worried about facing the rest of the year.

Like this prediction. This game will go a long ways toward letting us know what we really have.

I think most of us would agree that the program has made big strides here in Coach Lewis's first season. The next step is a bigger one, though--they have to learn how to finish games, how to win games. Everything else is great, but that next step is the one that separates this team from the dim history of KSU football.

Looks like a perfect weather day....low to mid 60's and sun.

Yikes 14-0 Ball St. early.

Can Haynes come back as DC? Would be a good balance.

This game has disaster written all over it.

RE: KSU @ Ball State 9/29 - anti-zip - 09-29-2018 02:35 PM

We're getting absolutely destroyed in the trenches on both sides of the ball. We look horrendous.

RE: KSU @ Ball State 9/29 - goldenflash99 - 09-29-2018 02:45 PM

Everything we've struggled with all season is coming to the surface today.

RE: KSU @ Ball State 9/29 - thanksjim - 09-29-2018 02:46 PM

Refs are becoming a buzzkill in college football in general.

RE: KSU @ Ball State 9/29 - anti-zip - 09-29-2018 03:27 PM

On that trick play td they just missed a ridiculously obvious block in the back. One of their gaurds got beat and he shoved the defender down from behind then fell on his back as he was getting up. Idk how the hell you can miss that.

Big swing in momentum. Down 3 scores going into half. Could've been down just 2 scores and receiving the ball to start the 3rd. Couple of bad penalties and a long scramble by the BSU QB. Little things continue to bite us.

Maybe we can play better in the 2nd half than in the first four games but boy the pass defense if just awful

I had a feeling this would happen. As our offense becomes watchable our defense is becoming unwatchable.

That shows how poorly PH and his staff recruited and developed players. Defense was supposed to be his calling card but we were left with a lot of holes to fill.

BTW, next week's opponent is putting up almost 700 yards of offense today.

RE: KSU @ Ball State 9/29 - anti-zip - 09-29-2018 04:23 PM

The constant stream of penalties is infuriating.

RE: KSU @ Ball State 9/29 - anti-zip - 09-29-2018 04:33 PM

Every time one of our ends beats their tackle he just grabs their arm. Haven't seen it called yet.

RE: KSU @ Ball State 9/29 - ilovegymnast - 09-29-2018 04:38 PM

I was hoping the high amount of penalties would end with the Haynes era but they are continuing on. Game can be summed up by saying lots of penalties, dropped passes, bad pass defense.

RE: KSU @ Ball State 9/29 - ilovegymnast - 09-29-2018 04:59 PM

Going into the 4th Kent 16 penalties 135 yards, Ball St 8 penalties 67 yards.
