Interesting article on the declining importance of freshman recruiting in MBB. Best to focus on grad students.

Christian Huyge tweets:

Charlie Williams had 11 points in last night’s loss. Lots of highlights on his InstaStory.

That loss ended the season for Carmel. A senior appreciation blog post:

“…for a guy with his athleticism and mobility as a big, there is limitless potential for him at William and Mary, another program that I believe is on the rise. I loved watching Charlie battle with so many different guys in the post over his three years, and for a guy his size, he is able to throw around with the bigger dudes in the state. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch him”

Any chance the Tribe could look at Jake Stephens? He was great for VMI this season and is not returning and looking for a graduate program. 6' 10" and can shoot from all areas and is decent inside too.

So then what do we do with Wight, Williams, and Hatton? Don't take the question too seriously.

6"11", 266 lbs. Averaged 19.4 pts/9.1 rebounds a game against Southern Conference competition. Would give us a tremendous inside presence on defense and would mercifully allow Ben to play the 4 position and actually stay on the court because he is not picking up @#$# fouls for (a) setting illegal screens, (b) coming out 18 feet away from the basket to hedge on defense, and © spending time in the low post trying to guard players that weigh 30 pounds more than him. Would also give Ben 7-8 months to get comfortable in his new position. I have no doubt that Ben could average 15+ points a game and 8 rebounds a game IF he could stay on the court. Would give Hatton an additional year to grow into the role that Stephens would play, and would give us the opportunity to ease our new big man from Indiana into the rotation. I think that this one move alone could change the outlook of next year's team.

Having survived this past season as a season ticket holder and made myself go to DC so that I felt that I did not give up on our guys, I could use something that lifts my spirits.

I get the tongue in cheek nature of your post, but 4 bigs on a 13 man roster seems perfect to me.

It would also be an anomaly in our conference that would seem to be advantageous.

To fully utilize a lineup with quality bigs, a drive and dish guard and a decent 3 point attack are needed to realize the potential upside.

‘75 As a classmate who is also a season ticket holder and made it to DC, I think that you are spot on and I also need the hope.

Stephens is an excellent shooter both from 3 and from the foul line. He would be a dream signing for Zorch. The stafff needs to reach out as soon as they can. He injured his ankle about 2 weeks before the season ended. Up until then, VMI was looking like the 3 seed. They were up and down, but had wins over Wofford(who they lost to in the final seconds), Chattanooga(the eventual champion) and Furman(who was the runner up). So, they were competitive.

Would give the Tribe one of two potential impact signings they desperately need. But, Jake is a computer science major. Do we have any grad program that fits with that?

What better way to enhance your computer science degree than to get an MBA in business analytics from the Mason School of Business!!

MS and PhD program in computer science, and MS in business analytics should fit the bill, beyond our MBA and Law programs.

Coach Bollinger and 6’2 Arnel Curic of Jacksonville, FL (San Jose Prep, North Florida Hurricanes) are now following each other. Curic also followed Coach Boatner.
