He apparently reclassified this year from 2021 to 2022 for "academic and social development." Unless he was previously a year ahead of his normal age group, or had a legit non-basketball development issue, it really bugs me to see a kid do this, especially as a freshman in HS. It's one thing to take a post grad year, but the private school reclassification stuff should somehow be regulated. 6'5" already and with those skills as a repeat freshman. I don't see why we would waste the effort, since you would assume his recruitment will move past midmajor, unless we think we can later get him to come out in his original 2021 class.

I'd have to imagine class is very fluid with this kid. If he finds the right fit, I have no doubt that he would opt for 2021. If not happy with his options, he can always reset to 2022. I'm pretty sure if "academics" were the reason for the reclassification, we wouldn't be talking to him.

It must be Coach Kemp at the Sleepy Thompson Tournament because he just followed St Anne’s Belfield’s Justin Taylor. Taylor has offers now from ODU, JMU, and Liberty. I was not aware of this personal connection, but I’m pretty sure his older sister is Tribe WBB’s Ashley Taylor. Their mom played basketball for JMU.
