3D chess on declassification - bullet - 08-30-2018 07:38 AM

https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2018/08/27/the_method_in_trumps_declassification_madness.html

"President Trump’s allies in Congress and the media have long wondered why he doesn’t declassify documents withheld by the Department of Justice that could vindicate him in the Russia probe. What's stopping him from exercising his constitutional authority, they ask? Doesn’t he recognize the growing danger of inaction with the midterm elections at hand, which could spell his impeachment if he loses his Republican congressional majority?

RealClearInvestigations sought insight into the president’s thinking from current and past senior U.S. officials, most of whom spoke only on condition of anonymity. The picture of Trump that emerges plays against type.

On declassification, the president is not the impulsive hothead portrayed by major media, epitomized by his "witch hunt" bluster on Twitter. Rather, he’s characterized by the sources as a deliberative, strategic executive inclined to keep his powder dry now for possible detonation later. (Because his supporters – some of whom have seen the documents – are pushing for declassification and his opponents are not, the assumption is that the documents would help the president.)...'

Unless it's a scandal directly tied to Trump and constantly promoted by the left and their willing mouthpiece, the MSM, most scandals blow over in DC as soon as the next one comes along. His Orangeness knows this and plans to extract maximum bang from his declassification pen.

Those of us on the right who are keenly aware of every new detail that comes out about the political and likely illegal nature of the FBI's surveillance of Team Trump both before and after his election, need to remember that the average American, if asked about the biggest scandal in DC today will likely name Stormy Daniels, Michael Cohen, or kids in cages, IF they name anything at all.

I long believed that Trump would declassify in order to insure a red wave in November, and he still might, though that's looking less likely. I think he either believes the House is safe from a dim takeover, or he's keeping that powder dry for the bigger fight, perhaps one that will involve Bueller and the Supreme Court.

Prove that the entire reason for appointing a special counsel in the first place was based on, shall we say, trumped up charges generated by illegal surveillance of American citizens and directed by the administration of a sitting president against his political opponent, and you've got a pretty powerful case to agrue before the Supremes.

Of course, doesn't hurt that you've been able to stack the Supremes in your favor. Elections matter suckers. 03-lmfao

To maximize the impact of declassification it would need to be done in the second or third week of October. If you do it now, the goldfish-like attention span of the American public would move on and it would give the MSM more time to move it out of the news cycle (if they even report it in the first place). You need to be as close to the election as possible while still leaving time for candidates to advertise the developments in their campaign.

Okay Mach, I'll play. Name one thing that has come out of the DOJ and FBI documents released (dragged out of actually) to the Nunes and Shiffty committee that has been an embarrassment to the president. Just one.

They sure have been an embarrassment to Nunes. He’s been proven a liar and embellisher.

Name something that has been embarrassing to the President Mach. Should be a piece of cake if you really think declassifying those documents is somehow a risk to Trump. I know you don't believe that, you're just blowing hot air, as usual.

Well the traitors in the FBI and DOJ are gradually being outed. The question is how high it goes. I suspect Obama was too smart to get his hands dirty. Susan Rice, not so much. John Podesta definitely not. Hillary-maybe not.

Link? Fact is that everything Nunes has said has eventually been proven true. It just takes a while to pull the truth out of the swamp.

If they were damageing to Trump---the Democrats would be pushing to get them declassified. They aren't--so its pretty safe to assume the documents will be absolutely devastating to democrats when they are released in October.

Actually the Shiff memo didn't refute any of the major claims of the nunes memo in any demonstrable means.
