Richest man in the world (& liberal) complains that people make too much money - thespiritof1976 - 08-27-2018 07:28 AM But Trump is the traitor here. Because he is xenophobic and doesn't care about the rest of the world. Only the United States. Even though he was elected PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES. Now contrast to the "resistance" general Jeff Bezos, who supports screwing over American workers by lowering their wages via importation of third world illegal aliens. Off the rails, folks. Off the rails. Quote:The government should allow farm companies to import an army of minimum-wage foreign workers to pick and process the fruits preferred by upper-income consumers, according to an op-ed in the Washington Post. What the literal hell ?! RE: Richest man in the world (& liberal) complains that people make too much money - 49RFootballNow - 08-27-2018 07:34 AM Millionaires vote Republican, Billionaires Democrat. The reason is they want the government to pay for everything so they are off the hook for things like health insurance. They know they can get around the tax code. The more the government does the more money in their pockets. The billionaires and mega corporations who call Seattle home. Amazon Starbucks Etc. They want to force everyone into their progressive utopia..... As long as it's everyone else paying the bills..... They at least recognize that they should give something back to society. I know of nothing that Jeff Bezos does to help people out. If he's a big donor anonymously, then that's different. Unfortunately, that's the negative of being anonymous. I'm a firm believer in earning what you get. What bothers me is pushing a leftist/progressive agenda then be not willing to pay for that agenda. If he was willing to pony up I'd respect that but backing progressive policies then complaining about taxes is the definition of hypocrisy. Unfortunately, that's the negative of being anonymous. I'm glad that wealthy individuals donate to charity, but don't forget the number of people these CEOs help by running successful companies. There's a great example I've seen before where a guy drives up in a nice new car, and the neighbor compliments him, but adds "how many people could you have helped if you didn't buy such an expensive car?" The car owner replies that he helped the dealer that sold the car, the factory workers that built the car, the engineers that designed the car, the marketers that advertised the car, etc. RE: Richest man in the world (& liberal) complains that people make too much money - SoMs Eagle - 08-27-2018 10:15 AM (08-27-2018 08:26 AM)BadgerMJ Wrote:(08-27-2018 07:34 AM)49RFootballNow Wrote: Millionaires vote Republican, Billionaires Democrat. However, I think it's the right thing to do if you ended up doing well for yourself. I also think that more should be expected from someone if they intend to put themselves out into the public eye and opine on social change. To Bezos defense, I don't believe he is a SJW by nature. However, he seems to favor the views of the Dems - which implies to me that he tacitly approves of SJW policies. If that is the case, then he should at least put his money where his mouth is. JMHO. While many of the CEO employees are forced to use taxpayer funded programs to make ends meet RE: Richest man in the world (& liberal) complains that people make too much money - georgia_tech_swagger - 08-27-2018 12:12 PM Ownership of the paper does not necessarily constitute editorial control. Bezos is at least somewhat libertarian leaning. This is just traffic clickbait from Breitbart. It worked. RE: Richest man in the world (& liberal) complains that people make too much money - olliebaba - 08-27-2018 12:51 PM If I was a millionaire I'd try to help the homeless but it wouldn't be no handout, they'd have to work. Example: There's a lot of trash in our city and it doesn't take a genius to pick it up. Even David St. could do that. Im fine with them giving money to charity or anything they wish...and Im fine with them keeping their money and doing whatever they want with it...including pissing it away or saving it for their estates to be given to their children. It is none of my business what people do with the fruits of their labors. I reject totally the idea that just because you are successful that you somehow OWE society to "give it back". |
