There are some really sick people who get too much into other people's business.

I wandered all over my neighborhood when I was 8. We went to the "dump," the "sinkhole" and "Murphy's swamp." The biggest danger was crossing the street in front of the house, which was a state highway with a 45 mph speed limit.

We are lucky enough to live in a neighborhood where kids run around unsupervised all the time, not too much unlike when I was a kid 40 some years ago. Back then, if a neighbor thought something might be wrong, they did something outrageous. They walked outside and asked you if everything was okay. If you said yes, they went back inside. If you said no, they walked you home.
