Quote:Nineteen foreign nationals have been charged with illegal voting in the 2016 election, the Justice Department said Friday.

The defendants are from numerous countries, including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Nigeria and Germany.

Some of them were charged in an indictment handed down by a federal grand jury in Wilmington, N.C. They were accused of filing a false claim of citizenship in order to register, and then voting.

Others were charged separately for illegally voting.

Quote:Those charged in the latest plots, according to the DOJ, include:

Jose Cruz Solano-Rodriguez, age 41, of Mexico
Guadalupe Espinosa-Pena, age 63, of Mexico
Sarah Emilia Silverio-Polanco, age 35, of the Dominican Republic
Elizabeth Nene Amachaghi, age 44, of Nigeria
Maria Rufina Castillo-Boswell, age 31, of Philippines
Dora Maybe Damatta-Rodriguez, age 64, of Panama
Elvis David Fullerton, age 54, of Grenada
Olive Agatha Martin, age 71, of Guyana
Kaoru Sauls, age 54, of Japan
Jose Jaime Ramiro-Torres, age 52, of El Salvador
Juan Francisco Landeros-Mireles, age 64, of Mexico
Alessandro Cannizzaro, age 46, of Italy
Dieudonne Soifils, age 71, of Haiti
Hyo Suk George, age 69, of Korea
Merius Jean, age 54, of Haiti
Rosemarie Angelika Harris, age 60, of Germany
Daniel Tadeusz Romanowski, age 39, of Poland
Diana Patricia Franco-Rodriguez, age 26, of Mexico
Ramon Esteban Paez-Jerez, age 58, of Dominican Republic

The Justice Department said the grand jury also returned an indictment against a 20th person, 66-year-old Denslo Allen Paige, for allegedly aiding and abetting another defendant, Espinosa-Pena, in falsely claiming United States citizenship in order to register to vote.

The cases are being investigated by a taskforce in North Carolina led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Homeland Security Investigations, and assisted by Enforcement Removal Operations, and the Department of State - Diplomatic Security Service.

I remember a forensic expert that testified in the OJ trial saying if I'm eating dinner and find a cockroach in my meal, I don't have to go through the whole thing to know it's tainted. So knowing that ILLEGALS are ILLEGALLY voting the best solution is voter ID that makes you prove who you are and that your legally allowed to vote.

I don't give a damn how many it is or who they voted for. Every vote cast by someone voting who shouldn't be voting cancels out the vote of someone who legally voted and essentially disenfranchises the legal voter. We should be taking every measure possible to protect the integrity of our voting process.

Lol at how the narrative spins

Actually you thought it was zero, and that voter ID would disenfranchise millions... yet 19 illegal voters is 19 more than the number of people demonstrably disenfranchised by voter ID. In the Supreme Court case they brought, they couldn't produce ONE SINGLE PERSON who was disenfranchised by the law.

Not one

I don't believe it's millions.

iirc, GWB beat Algore by 472 votes. perhaps thousands of local votes have swung on fewer than that.

Given how hard it is to find, much less convict someone of voter fraud, if they can find 19, I think it's clear that there are many many more than that.

'Your' side couldn't find one.... and they (the rumored disenfranchised) were all legal citizens, living and working and getting assistance and healthcare and paying taxes here.

I've never claimed zero. That would be asinine. Of course people vote illegally. They're caught every eleftion.

What is ridiculous tho is the 3 million plus Trump touted and posters on this board echoed, even AFTER investigators named it false.

Now you've found 19 and I'm supposed to be impressed? My 3rd grade class had more people in it.

As for voter ID? Search my post history on that and you'll be surprised.

As for voter ID? Search my post history on that and you'll be surprised.

SO which is it JD....

Does it happen in every election (as you said) in which case it's VASTLY more than the 19 caught in this one area in this one election... or is it 'only 19'? which you also said.

The FACT is that it could easily be millions, depending on whether you mean one election... or if one person voting for 30 different propositions is 30 counts... or over a period of time.... etc etc etc

The other fact is that you seem fine with lumping people together as you see fit, and then bothered when it is done in response to you.

As I said... and you haven't addressed... these 19, in this one scenario that you seem to admit is vastly more common than 'just these 19' (whether or not it's 3mm) is still 19 more than were produced by states arguing before the SCOTUS that voter ID disenfranchised people...

They're talking about 5-7% of the population, which is a lot more than 3mm people.... and they have all sorts of scientific studies to support their claims... yet they couldn't produce one single person.

Where was your 'I thought it was millions' comment to them?

Said differently.... if their scientific studies can produce estimates of 21mm disenfranchised (the ACLU argues by statistics that 21mm people lack ID, which of course is only one part of most voter ID laws) and yet they can't produce one actual person disenfranchised by the vote, then extrapolating 19 FOREIGN NATIONALS (who only make up a small portion of the alleged fraud) caught people in one single election isn't remotely unrealistic using similar metrics.

In fact, one COULD make an argument that if nobody can actually produce a disenfranchised voter, that the millions that the ACLU claim are disenfranchised (based on declines in turnout) actually could represent CAUGHT (or at least defeated) fraudulent voters

If you're going to pick on statistics and then claim to be free from bias, then pick on both sides of the argument and not just one.

No, you're not 'required' to do that, nor am i required to search your posts, but don't be indignant when it gets pointed out either.

If you're saying the people you responded to said it was millions, then I challenge you to produce those quotes. If you're saying it randomly, then bear the consequences of having it thrown back at you

Any election with a potential trial 300+ million person voter base will have hinky votes. To pretend like this isn't the case is moronic. So yes, I assume every election the USA has ever had since inception has probably had illegal votes.

So no, 19 people being caught doesnt surprise me. But over 3 million? That's ridiculous. Unless you're half of the Republican electorate.

But an investigator council already deemed that level of widespread voter fraud to be baseless.

By the way, where did I lump people together?

As for the rest of your rant... because your tangent was simply that.. you clearly do not know my position so bye Felicia.

It's not a tangent... It's directly on point... and your obfuscation of that fact doesn't make it so... it only shows how arrogant you are.... even when demonstrably wrong.

Its just as much 3mm as it is 24mm disenfranchised by voter ID.... Statistics don't lie.

and these 19 weren't legal citizens voting under someone else's name... part of the rumored 3mm.... They were non-citizens who had the balls to claim that they were somehow actually citizens under their own names and addresses. They've got some serious balls.

THAT"S how we caught them.

(virtually) No way to catch the other without ID, so it requires no balls

I don't understand this. The following is what happens when I vote.
1. Stand in long line.
2. When I get to the head of the line, Usually two old ladies are at the table with the voter rolls for my precinct.
3. Present ID to ladies. They check my address to make sure I'm at the proper place.
4. After finding my name on the voter rolls they hand me a ballot and make a check by my name. This ensures I cannot come back and vote for a second time.
Isn't this what everybody goes through?

I have never voted absentee before so I don't know what is involved with that? I have voted early and it was the same process.
