Quote:“What we are watching in the Trump presidency is worse than Watergate. It’s worth than Watergate, as I say, because the system worked in Watergate. The heroes in Watergate were Republicans who demanded that the president be held accountable, who demanded that he be transparent, who demanded to know what did the president know and when did he know it, and who conducted bipartisan investigation that led, in fact, to understanding and finding out what Nixon had done, whereas the Republicans on Capitol Hill thus far have done almost everything they can to impede and undermine legitimate investigation. So it’s a totally different and much more dangerous situation.”

Where's the press Bernstein, demanding some transparency on the part of the FBI and DOJ about the origins of their "investigation" of the Trump campaign for colluding with the Russians?

You're right about one thing though, it is a totally different and much more dangerous situation when the supposedly free press becomes the mouthpiece of a political party.

The anti-Trump elements have spent 21 months trying to create a new Watergate Affair in which Trump would be destroyed, just as Nixon was in the original. It’s dawning on them (some of them, at least) that it’s simply not going to happen. Bernstein’s interview is a nice summary of how they are coping.

As for Bernstein himself, you have to give credit where credit is due. His moment in the media spotlight ended 42 years ago, yet after all this time he is *Still* dining out on The Legends and Lessons of Watergate. Impressive.

Makes me doubt the rep of the duo. He looks remarkably like a superhero Dude on SpongeBob. He, like the network he reps wears shell goggles.
Sad.

Shouldn't he be out somewhere conducting an orchestra or something?

I know, I know. Just trying to be funny. Did it work?

Well it is just, and appropriate that he should pass into obscurity with the rest of the dinosaurs in his party. They are the dying gasp of the radical 60's.
