Interesting. There has been smoke for a while, but GP said Cal and staff were VERY complimentary of DJ in Atlanta. Another of the recruiting gurus said DJ's stock was actually rising because he had a good summer.
Wonder how he looked in Vegas?

KY is on the edge of getting a possible commit from a 5 star SF (Khalil Whitney) not to mention they are recruiting other guys who play a similar position. Plus didn't a guard from Olive Branch Zion Cooper open up his recruitment yesterday? Could be something going on there. Who knows.

He committed to UK very shortly after the Penny hire rumor really began heating up. I believe Cal made a visit to Memphis for Wiseman and Jeffries at that time, and got the commitment from Jeffries. Speculation has been that Cal put the pressure on both to commit early, to make a statement to Penny and to Memphis. Wiseman had more leverage and he said he'd wait. DJ's offer may have been a "now or never" squeeze, considering his ranking at the time (somewhere around 40ish). At least that's the theory.
Maybe DJ decided now it wasn't worth it, and he'd rather be part of this. Of course, many said that DJ would not come here because of Keelon. We shall see.

Martin said today on his show he was told out in Vegas not to worry about Watford, basically talking him off the ledge.
