2018-19 ASun Basketball - army56mike - 07-18-2018 10:59 PM

I just saw UNF OOC schedule and it’s ambitious. I think that is great. We as a conference need more of this. Some big games they are playing include Dayton, Penn St., Jacksonville St., Florida, Minnesota, Wright St., Florida St. and Auburn. That’s a tough lineup.

Gonzaga
Pitt
Troy
Jacksonville State
One of the Los Vegas tournaments
And who knows who knows who else.

Y’all are on your way to a tough schedule but I think UNF’s is much more of a murder row. 5-6 of those games will probably be blowouts.

But UNA season 1 in D1. All but 2 of our team are freshmen or juco transfers. But your right, UNF has a very difficult schedule. But that's what the Conference as a whole needs to do to get better.

Yeah that young of a team might end up getting ugly. How good were y’all at the d2 level?

Not good lately, but we have an aggressive new coach that seems to be getting the talent up and peaple interested again.

Do you all have any returning 7-footers in in this conference? Liberty is bringing in a redshirt freshman who is 7'2".

That’s the only guy we have but Scottie James will be one of the best players in the league. The guy is a stud. I would get familiar with him if you aren’t already.

I didn’t realize I was commenting to a Liberty fan. I’m sure you are familiar with Scottie lol.

RE: 2018-19 ASun Basketball - Courtside - 07-25-2018 07:12 PM

Liberty's inclusion into the league has really changed (for the better) the quality of ASC basketball. A VERY early prediction of the ASC standings

1) Lipscomb

2) Liberty

3) Jacksonville

4) UNF

5) FGCU

6) NJIT

7) Stetson

8) Kennesaw St

9) UNA

NJIT is a very decent bb team.

Not really a "special" game in Huntsville, they just have been trying to play in a few parts of the state to try to generate more fan interest for Basketball.

Yeah they call it the Rocket City Classic but it looks pretty much like a home game for Bama.

I think the top 6 teams are very good. Lipscomb should win the ASC. After that 2-6 will be a real toss-up.
