RE: Massey Ratings - IAH - 07-11-2018 12:23 PM

I like is these avgs better than the Orlando one...

But I will be the first to say that there is no way we are 20 places higher on avg than CUSA.

Massey Ratings - owl at the moon - 07-15-2018 05:53 AM

How can TEP possibly be last? It’s only July and they’ve already matched last year’s win total.

RE: Massey Ratings - BlueRaiderBoy - 07-15-2018 06:26 AM

Normally, I can accept MT ending the season with a ranking around 68 (the average between Orlando Sentinel and Massey). But with this being Li'l Stock's final year that would be a real big disappointment. It's time for the dean of Coaches and his band of merry men to climb out of mediocrity and win 8 or 9 ball games and at least a share of a CUSA Championship.

RE: Massey Ratings - THUNDERStruck73 - 07-15-2018 08:34 AM

Lindy's has us at #93. Now I'm not really sure that we're
As good at the OS thinks we are, but 93 is just stupid. Especally since they said that we could win the league.

Agreed - that IS a low preseason.
I mean given that AAC finished last season with an average ranking 25 spots higher than CUSA.

Skewed by outliers, UCF and Rice UTEP and Charlotte.

Keep the ratings though, CUSA will just keep kicking AAC arse in bowl games

Comparing #1 to #1, down to #12 vs #12, which conveniently drops off two of your so-called outliers...
#1 AAC 23 spots higher
#2 AAC 41 spots higher
#3 AAC 39 spots higher
#4 AAC 29 spots higher
#5 AAC 30 spots higher
#6 AAC 20 spots higher
#7 AAC 22 spots higher
#8 AAC 17 spots higher
#9 CUSA 4 spots higher
#10 CUSA 3 spots higher
#11 AAC 3 spots higher
#12 AAC 14 spots higher

You wanna drop off UCF? Okay our #2 over your #1 down to our #8 over your #7 AAC is +6, +37,+22,+24,+19,+11,+9...

Not just 1 ass whipping my friend, Navy, South Florida, Memphis, UConn. CUSA is 5-0 vs AAC in bowl games since league change in 2014

RE: Massey Ratings - Dawgxas - 07-15-2018 11:27 AM

Is this backlash because Phi Steele had zero AAC teams in preseason top 25? Not even UCF

If you want respect, the AAC best teams have got to win bowls games. The AAC teams can’t even beat other G5 bowl teams. Thus no respect in top 25 preseason

How about the regular season?
Where the AAC's fourth ranked team went on the road to beat the CUSA champ by three scores? Or the AAC's seventh ranked team skull-dragged the CUSA runner up hanging half a hundred on 'em.
But you want to base your self-esteem on beating that seventh ranked team when they had lost their coaching staff - not the head coach the staff to an extent that the new HC was on the sidelines (a rarity in these situations) without knowing the vocabulary of the offense and a grad assistant was calling the plays. Or the year prior we did have a nice #2 vs #2 matchup...except that the AAC #2 was missing half its starters including QB and captains on both sides of the ball....
Whatever makes you feel better little guy.
Your board, I don't want to be an ugly guest, I'm out.

???
What part?
I came with facts about end of season rankings, conference average, #1 v #1 etc, #2 v #1 etc to take away the AAC "outlier" , and facts about regular season results.
I added context to two of the bowl results.
And I meant it that I don't intend to come to your board and spread discontent. I am conscious of representing my school and my service, even in message board banter. You'll note that my initial was a response to a fan of an AAC school saying something...misguided.
I don't have the inclination to crowd your board with more if my responses.
You and I have discussed the '16 Armed Forces Bowl before: I have continued to say good game, congratulations, it became a who-has-the-ball-last game and LaTech executed when it counted...but Navy missing half the starters including QB and the captains on both sides of the ball means it is not a convincing case study for your argument that "we're all the same - look at this result."
So where was I a keyboard warrior ?

Bullshite. Navy got beat end of story. No excuses. You don't think Tech was missing players. The AAC is not near as good as many of the AAC fans think it is.

I wouldn't give them any respect either. The AAC has been horrible against other G-5 teams in bowls.
