nice Juawan Johnson is back or perhaps he is playing at both TCU and NIU at the same time.

I take little credibility in any article that can't even get simple facts straight!

They don't seem to give us much respect and mention the embarrassment in 2013 when they lost to us.

Just win. That works every time.

I always have a good feeling when we play Iowa! The only time I can remember being manhandled by big 10 school was when we played Wisconsin and they had Russell Wilson. Other than that, we usually hold our own against the Big Ten.

Yep.... writer didn't seem to know much beyond the obvious. It does seem that Childer's passing ability seems to be the easy concern for anyone that has watched Northern football.

Is our center OK? Randy6 popped off last week that he might be injured and then disappeared. Lame.

If Childers is placed in a functioning capable offense, I think he would thrive

I think Childers will show natural growth and progression due to hard work and experience. Hopefully, he's working his butt off so he can meet the expectations of his coaches, teammates, and fans. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised. I also think our defense can be even better than we were last year. I'm pumped for next season.

Childers' growth will be directly proportional to Carey's growth as head coach. Hopefully Carey learned some things last season and how things just wont work carrying on the same predictable QB-unfriendly offense. I will save judgment and see how things play out. The past has given us reason for pessimism with Carey, but who knows, everyone can change.

I'm optimistic about Childers and Harbison. I'm going to be pissed if Jones gets double the carries as Harbs...

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Harbs averaged 6 yards per carry and only got 7 carries a game.

NIU vs. Iowa should be a good game.

It's an opener. I would put it on a similar level, as last year's opener for NIU, when the Huskies played BC.

When Iowa played BC at the Pinstripe Bowl, it was a frozen field.

Iowa was only a -3 point favorite back in 2013.

Last year's season opening game, Iowa's veteran defense stepped up against Wyoming. Iowa debuted a first-year starting QB, much like the 2013 game against NIU.

I am not a Rod Carey fan, however Carey can not throw the ball for Childers and it was not Carey's fault that our QB struggled to complete short, intermediate and long throws last season. Hopefully he has worked hard on the off season and hopefully there is a coach on staff that was able to help him reach his full potential. If Childers has improved it will make it possible to have a more complete playbook and an awesome season.

I still think that Santa outplayed him and somehow lost the starting job but that ship has sailed and it is long past time that I got over it.

Quote:If Iowa is what I believe them to be, they should beat the Huskies by 20 to 24.

NIU has almost no offense. Unless Iowa makes offensive mistakes NIU will have a tough time getting 10 pts.

Iowa should be able to pound the rock and get big plays from the TE's. Iowa should be able to score around 30 in this game.

They blitz a ton and have a quick 2nd level defensively. They are small everywhere defensively which should allow Iowa to hit them up in the middle of the field.

Which team has a HOF coach?
Which team will be playing at home?
Which team has more future NFL talent?
Which team has newer state-of-the-art facilities?
Which team is in the best conference?

Bro, it's not even close. Iowa blows them away. Unless Kirk micro-manages Brian or Phil, then it's 50/50.

(The latter poster sounds like a Wal-Mart t-shirt fan parody account.)

Iowa fans should stick to what they do best - drinking themselves into a stupor.

You’re right about the Wal-Mart t-shirt type of fan but it’s not a parody.

They are an odd breed. And I use the word breed loosely.

I’ll lay odds his name is Daryl and he has another brother named Daryl.

Monday is the BTN Iowa preview, if any of you want to hear how great the Hawkeyes are.

We already know what they'll say. NIU is feisty but Iowa's B10 talent and depth will be too much for NIU for 4 quarters.
